Xbox execs, developers, and more react to Reggie’s retirement

It came as quite the surprise today that Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime is retiring. Reggie will be leaving the company in April, and will be replaced by Doug Bowser.
Just after the news broke, there was naturally a strong reaction. Xbox boss Phil Spencer, The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley, and plenty of developers shared their thoughts and thanked Reggie in response.

Reggie Fils-Aime retiring, Doug Bowser to take over as new Nintendo of America president

Nintendo has just announced that Reggie Fils-Aime, the president of Nintendo of America, will be retiring. Reggie’s last day at the company will be taking place on April 15.
Doug Bowser will be taking over Reggie’s role, and will become the new president for Nintendo of America. Bowser is currently working as senior VP of sales and marketing.

Mega Cat Studios and Devolver Digital release SNES game Fork Parker’s Crunch Out

Back in May of last year, developer Mega Cat Studios and publisher Devolver Digital announced the new SNES game Fork Parker’s Crunch Out. It’s now out as of today.
500 copies of the Fork Parker’s Crunch Out cartridge and box sets remain from the limited edition 1,000 produced. It can be ordered on Mega Cat Studios’ website here.
Costume Quest animated series debut trailer, releases March 8

Last year, we heard that Amazon was cooking up a new animated series based on the Costume Quest games. The first trailer is finally in, which we have below.
The Costume Quest show features Wren, Reynold, Everett, and Lucy as they “face off against ferocious, nougat-munching monsters that lurk in the shadows of the sleepy town of Auburn Hollow. They must learn to use their imaginations to unlock the magical powers of their homemade costumes and save the universe” during Halloween. If you have a Prime membership, you can begin watching the series on March 8.

New material from original Pokemon generation shows early title screens, more insight into MissingNo., prototype trainer designs, more

Helix Chamber has managed to get its hands on a prototype for the original generation of Pokemon games. With that comes the discovery of many changed elements.
One of the first things we’re able to see – shown above – are early title screens. This includes the logo with “Capsule Monsters” as well as one with Rhyhorn early design.

Tomy to sell Mario Kart plush toys in North America starting next month

Tomy has announced that some new Mario Kart plush toys will be released in North America. Fans can look forward to mega size plushies and clip-ons. They’ll be priced at $29.99 and $8.99 respectively.
GameStop currently has listings up for Red and Blue Shell plush toys as well as a Mega Mushroom. Also planned is a Mario hat, Luigi hat, Bullet Bill, Banana Peel, and Super Star.
Daisy, Ken, and Young Link amiibo back up on Amazon

Amazon started taking pre-orders for Daisy, Ken, and Young Link, but eventually stopped doing so. Now reservations have opened up again. If you’re interested in ordering any of these amiibo, you can do so here.
The Daisy, Ken, and Young Link amiibo are due out on April 12.
Castlevania characters to be given the Funko Pop treatment

Funko has announced a new set of Pop figures based on Castlevania characters. Trevor Belmont, Vlad Dracula Tepes, Adrian Tepes, Blue Fangs, and Sypha Belnades will be joining the line in the future.
For now, Funko hasn’t announced a release date for the new Pop figures.
