In an interview with Game Informer, director Masahiro Sakurai spoke about the miracle that is creating a Super Smash Bros. titles.

Sakurai started out by explaining that these new games can’t be made unless the rights from all I.P. holders are granted. He says that for each installment, “we are walking a fine line.” Sakurai also discussed how the franchise has been able to continue even after he left HAL Laboratory.

Twenty years ago, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launched on the N64. Many would say that it is among the most influential games in history.

Ocarina of Time has been praised since its original release for taking what was previously a 2D-only adventure series and perfectly making the transition to 3D. Nintendo also came up with significant mechanics that are still used today, including Z-targeting during combat. Nintendo’s classic remains one of the most highly-rated titles of all time.

Happy 20th anniversary to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time!

After having its existence leaked earlier this month, it has been confirmed that a Pokemon-Tamagotchi collaboration is happening in the form of special Eevee-themed devices in Japan.

According to Serebii, consumers will be able to purchase this new form of Tamagotchi Nano as of January 26th. Players will raise and take care of Eevee on the device, eventually evolving it into one of its various 8 evolutions, based on the way the Pokemon is treated. On top of this, some Eevee may even come in Team Rocket gear, or as a Ditto clone of Eevee itself.

Fans can’t actually place an order for the set just yet. Amazon Japan will open pre-orders on December 7, and will likely ship in February given that the Piranha Plant amiibo is included. Another important tidbit: only 50 units will be produced.

Even though Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is the best-selling third-party game title for Switch and Starlink: Battle for Atlas heavily featured Star Fox, Nintendo still makes up a small percentage of Ubisoft’s earnings. A recent report shows that sales on Nintendo platforms only made up 3% of their overall sales in Quarter 2 of 2018, less than when Mario + Rabbids was a newer release. It’s interesting data but doesn’t mean Ubisoft isn’t continuing to prioritize their partnership with Nintendo, just that it has much more content pointed towards other consoles and PC.
