Rain Games on the reception of Teslagrad as part of an interview with Nintendo-Okie. According to the developer, they’re “very happy with Teslagrad‘s performance, the vast majority of reviews were very positive and the audience reception has been great.” It was also mentioned that the game is sitting at roughly 1.6 million copies in total, and it “sold surprisingly well” on Wii U “considering the smaller install base”.

Next up for Rain Games is the company’s brand new project World to the West. Regarding potential platforms, the studio would only tease the following:

We’re definitely aiming for a multi-platform release and it will definitely be released in the future- We’re keeping a bit mum on the subject of which platforms it will launch on first- there’s some new hardware coming up, too, so that’s exciting. who knows, maybe it’ll even release on that (sly look)

Nintendo’s new Developer Portal just went online – this website serves as a hub for everyone wanting to develop games for Nintendo platforms (i.e. Wii U and 3DS, there’s no NX info on the site, as expected). The Developer Portal welcomes developers of all sizes – from big companies to one-person indie devs. Previously, Nintendo had separate programs for “big” developers and for indies. The website and program are currently available in both English and Japanese.

The website offers developers help on all the steps involved with releasing a game on Nintendo platforms – development tools such as Unity, self-publishing, PR and so on.

A lot of the interviews with Shigeru Miyamoto coming out of E3 this year were very game specific – in particular focusing on Zelda: Breath of the Wild. That makes sense given how big of a title it is for the company, but Kotaku went in a bit of a different direction with its discussion.

While speaking with Miyamoto, the site wanted to find out how Nintendo makes games – what goes into making them special, what makes them unique, what their core is. Miyamoto also went in-depth with Bill Trinen on controls, and also talked about topics like sound effects and advice for younger developers. Of course, some talk about Zelda: Breath of the Wild was sprinkled in as well.

Head past the break for some interview excerpts. You can find the full talk here.

The second wave of Splaton amiibo are officially arriving on Friday, but some folks are getting their hands on the new figures early. Get a look at them in the video below.
