Nintendo president Satoru Iwata will not be attending E3 2014 next week, Nintendo of America has confirmed. Iwata was advised not to travel overseas in the immediate future on the advice of his physician.

A representative told Polygon that “it is business as usual for Mr. Iwata, and he continues his normal duties as president of Nintendo Co., Ltd. while he remains in Japan.” Nintendo added, “As always, he will be actively involved in all of Nintendo’s activities at the show.”

Things are starting to come together – slowly but surely! Nintendo’s E3 2014 booth is currently being worked on, and should be ready for prime time on Tuesday.

If you live by the New York City area and wish to celebrate E3 in a slightly more special manner, then you may want to head on over to Nintendo World on Tuesday. That’s because a live broadcast of Nintendo’s Digital Event will be held at the store between 12 PM and 1 PM.

Miiverse

A new Miiverse update has gone live for all versions of the social network.

Today’s update brings about four notable changes. The amount of time you need to wait between posting comments has been reduced from 3 minutes to 2 minutes, the character count for posts and comments has been increased to 400, the notifications screen will now display up to 50 notifications, and Your Activity Feed now shows posts that your friends or people you’re following have given a Yeah to.

Nintendo UK have announced through their Twitter account a special pre-order offer for Tomodachi Life. Anyone who pre-orders the game through the Nintendo UK store will get £5 off their next order with the store. Tomodachi Life is due for release on the 6th of June in the UK, so better be quick if you want to take advantage of this offer!
