Publisher RedDeerGames and developer Keith Burgun Games have revealed the release date for single-player turn-based wargame Gem Wizards Tactics. The title is slated to arrive digitally on the Switch eShop on February 18. Check out an overview for the game below the break.

For a long time now, Directs are the primary channel in which Nintendo communicates with its fans. These presentations provide updates about what’s being developed internally and always keeping the cycle of hype alive.
With more than ten years of producing these videos, Nintendo evolved a lot, changing the format and trying to create better and more entertaining presentations. Since 2017 it seems that they finally found a good formula, usually bringing a lot of new and exciting announcements. Nintendo says component shortages involving Switch starting to impact its gross profit

It’s no secret that there have been component shortages for all sorts of technology, including Switch. Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has now said that the situation is starting to impact the company’s gross profit due to increased costs.
During Nintendo’s financial results briefing last week, Furukara explained that the “rise is gradual” and there will only be a small impact this fiscal year. However, “if costs continue at current levels through next fiscal year as well, then we would expect hardware profitability to decrease correspondingly compared to this fiscal year.” Also brought up is how the Switch OLED has a lower profit margin compared to the standard Switch and Switch Lite.

Nintendo says digital sales saw huge growth in Q3, Animal Crossing and Smash Bros. key contributors

Nintendo was asked about what percentage of users purchased the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise DLC during its financial results briefing last week. While president Shuntaro Furukawa didn’t go into specifics, he did share some notable information.
According to Furukawa, “digital sales grew enormously in Q3, and one factor in that was the Animal Crossing: New Horizons add-on content.” He also mentioned that Smash Bros. Ultimate played a big part as Sora was released during the final DLC character for the game. Furukawa noted that the recent DLC contributed to user engagement on Switch.
