Famitsu published a report this week revealing the best-selling games of 2021 in Japan as well as hardware rankings. There’s good news for Monster Hunter Rise, along with Switch overall.
Switch cleared out the full top ten in terms of software. Monster Hunter Rise, which came out last month, topped the list with over two million physical copies sold.

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have announced a new summoning event for Fire Emblem Heroes known as Of Lost Kingdoms. It will feature Special Heroes who have donned garb reminiscent of the desert nation Hatari.
The lineup for this particular event includes Nailah: Hatari Scorcher (voiced by Rachel Robinson, art by Azusa), Karla: Sun-Piercing Steel (voiced by Allegra Clark, art by Kita Senri), Xane: Desert Mirage (voiced by Brandon McInnis, art by Yo Kanzawa), and Azura: Hatari Duet (voiced by Rena Strober and Rachelle Heger, art by kaya8) as a duo. Nailah’s skills include Royal Hatari Fang, Luna, Sturdy Surge, Lull Spd/Def 3, and Glare. Karla can use Dryblade lance, Draconic Aura, Special Spiral 3, and Odd Tempest 3. As for Xane, his skills are Serpentine Staff+, Physic+, Miracle, Def/Res Solo 3, and Dazzling Staff 3. Lastly, Azura has Dancing Flames, Gray Waves, Fury 4, S/R Far Trace 3, and Cross Spur Res.

Top-down base-building survival game Scrapnaut in the works for Switch

Publisher RockGame and developer SpiffyBit have revealed that Scrapnaut, a top-down base-building survival game, is currently in the works for Switch.
The project previously entered early access on PC. As for the Switch version, RockGame will have it ready to go on January 20.

Ikai launches in March

Publisher PM Studios and developer Endflame have shared a release date update for Ikai, their psychological horror game. It’s now confirmed for a March 29 launch.
Ikai was first confirmed for Switch last June. Originally, the plan was to have it ready to go in October. It’s currently unclear why the title had been delayed.

A new piece of merchandise for Fire Emblem: Three Houses is on the way, as Intelligent Systems itself is preparing a new pre-painted figure for Byleth – specifically the female version of the character. It’s 1/7 scale with Tokura handling sculpting and Shoushin Murakawa taking charge of paintwork.
