Dungeon & Gravestone will be arriving on Switch in a little over a month, per developer Wonderland Kazakiri. From the same studio that brought us BQM – BlockQuest Maker, this Roguelike dungeon RPG has a much darker tone. Check out the overview and trailer below, as rounded up by Gematsu:
Death and resurrection, death and resurrection.
There is a world full of grief and sadness, where only the end of life is certain. In this world, there is a city where people take annihilation for granted, and this city is grim like an empty shell. Who am I? Just stepping into the dungeon in front of me…
Dungeon and Gravestone is a roguelike RPG where you die over and over again. Generated dungeons are full of difficult traps and puzzles. Put your life on the line in over 500 quests, weapon and item collection, and even fishing. How deep can you dive? Defy the unprecedented automatic dungeon generation algorithm! And finally find out what lies beyond the deep dungeon…

Hades originally starred Theseus instead of Zagreus

Hades, Supergiant Games’ wildly successful god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler, almost went in a different direction. Co-founder Amir Rao revealed in a talk on the social app Clubhouse that early concepts didn’t feature Zagreus. Instead, it would have revolved around Theseus.
Theseus is in the game, but not in the starring role. Creative director Greg Kasavin ultimately came up with the idea to keep what Supergiant had already created, “but recast it as Zagreus.” Rao added, “I think a day or two he had convinced everyone that it was a better idea.”
