Hindsight 20/20: Wrath of the Raakshasa

It’s been almost two years since we first heard about Hindsight 20/20: Wrath of the Raakshasa, the single-player action RPG with morality-based decisions from the BioWare, ArenaNet, and Sucker Punch veterans at Triple-I Games. The studio finally provided an update today with confirmation that the project is now slated for Q2 2021.

Speaking about the extra development time, creative director Hemanshu Chhabra said:

Everhood

Foreign Gnomes has revealed Everhood, an “unconventional RPG adventure from Foreign Gnomes where nothing is as it seems”. It will launch digitally for Switch on March 4.

We have the following overview and trailer for Everhood:

The latest Max Raid Battle event has gone live in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield.

The Fighting-type Pokemon Machamp, Lucario, and Falinks are more likely to appear. The same goes for the Psychic-type Pokemon Gothitelle, Reuniclus, and Orbeetle. If you’re lucky enough, you may encounter Gigantamax Machamp or Gigantamax Orbeetle.

Sonic Prime

Update: Official announcement added below. Sonic Prime will have 24 episodes, and the press release states: “Sonic’s adventure is about more than a race to save the universe, it’s a journey of self-discovery and redemption.”

Original: Last month, we heard that Netflix is hard at work on a new 3D animated series for Sonic the Hedgehog. The news was officially announced today and we have an actual title as well.

Sonic Prime is the name of the upcoming Netflix show. It’s set to debut sometime in 2022.

Unfortunately, actual details surrounding Sonic Prime are mostly unknown. SEGA, WildBrain, and Man of Action are all working on the series.

Cris Tales

We have an update on Cris Tales, the upcoming RPG for Switch. The game will now launch in July, Modus Games, Dreams Uncorporated, and SYCK announced today.

Cris Tales was originally planned for last November. It was then delayed to early 2021.

Mario Kart 8 on Wii U combined with the enhanced Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch are collectively the series’ best-selling entry ever. The game’s total sales now come in at 41.86 million units, surpassing the 37.38 total of Mario Kart Wii.

Mario Kart 8 originally moved 8.45 million on Wii U. The Deluxe version for Switch is currently at 33.41 million. It’s likely just a matter of time until Mario Kart 8 Deluxe surpasses the Wii title on its own.

Here’s a look at the sales of every Mario Kart title:

Here’s an overview of the game, along with a trailer:

Nintendo Switch

Rumors of an upgraded Switch model continue to persist, but a reveal doesn’t appear to be on the horizon. During a financial call for Nintendo’s latest financial results today, president Shuntaro Furukawa said the company isn’t planning on making an announcement anytime soon. Furukawa pointed to the upcoming Mario edition Switch and Monster Hunter bundle as something Nintendo is currently focusing on.

An announcement may not be imminent, but the door isn’t necessarily closed on 2021 entirely. Bloomberg reporter Takashi Mochizuki pointed out how Furukawa said last year that Nintendo wasn’t planning on a releasing a new model in 2020 whereas today’s statement simply said “anytime soon.”
