Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Nintendo has shared the official patch notes for Animal Crossing: New Horizons version 1.2.0, which was issued earlier tonight.

Unsurprisingly, the update covers much of what we’ve heard of previously. That means a couple of merchants will now appear, and seasonal events have been added.

The official patch notes are as follows:

Catherine: Full Body

This week’s Famitsu scans are now available. Highlights include Streets of Rage 4, Catherine: Full Body, and Grisaia: Phantom Trigger Vol. 1 & 2. Scans of all games can be found below.

If you’ve downloaded the latest Animal Crossing: New Horizons update, you may have come across a message straight from Bank of Nook. Interestingly, the interest rate for all savings accounts have been lowered in the game. That means you won’t earn as many Bells in your account going forward.

You’ll at least receive a couple of items for your troubles. Players are being given a free rug and world map.

Obviously this change comes a little bit out of left field. It’s unclear why Nintendo decided to implement the change.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

A new report from SuperData reveals that Animal Crossing: New Horizons sold five million digital copies worldwide in March. With that success, the Switch title broke the console record for monthly digital game sales. Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII previously held that record.

SuperData further reports that Animal Crossing: New Horizons “also roughly matched the first-month digital sales of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Pokemon Sword and Shield put together.”

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been in high demand with more people staying in home due to the coronavirus. It also helps that the franchise has proven successful in the past.
