In his previous Famitsu column, Super Smash Bros. director delved into the creation of the series’ character reveal trailers when it comes to CG. But as we know, these videos also include gameplay segments. Sakurai explained how those sections are made in his latest column, which is much more involved that one would initially think.

RetroMania Wrestling coming to Switch

Retrosoft Studios has announced that RetroMania Wrestling, its arcade wrestling game and Wrestlefest spiritual successor, is coming to Switch. The game is currently targeting a Q1 2020 release.

DC Universe Online devs talk about the possibility of supporting cross-play on Switch in the future

DC Universe Online launched years ago, so it’s currently out on a couple of different platforms. Switch is joining in on the fun when it releases August 6. However, cross-play and cross-progression won’t be supported – at least not right away.
We recently spoke with key members of the DC Universe Online development team about the possibility of adding in cross-play support later down the road. Executive producer Leah Bowers first told us that she won’t rule it out, and is something the team is very interested in.
Bethesda.net login requirement for classic Doom games will be made optional, fix in the works

Yesterday, Bethesda brought three classic Doom games to Switch. Doom, Doom II, and Doom 3 can all be found on the eShop. These launches were great news for fans, but it didn’t come without a bit of controversy.
In order to play the classic Doom games, players have been required to log in to a Bethesda.net account. It’s far from the worst thing in the world, but some viewed it as an inconvenience while others simply weren’t interested in signing up. Thankfully, a fix is on the way.

Fire Emblem Heroes hosting Summoning Focus: Heroes with Close Def Skills

Summoning Focus: Heroes with Close Def Skills is now live in Fire Emblem Heroes. A trio of Heroes with Close Def skills are available as part of a 5-star summoning focus. These characters have up to Def/Rest+6 during combat if their foes initiates combat and uses sword, lance, axe, dragonstone, or beast damage.
You’ll be able to participate in Summoning Focus: Heroes with Close Def Skills until August 5.

GameStop comments on the Switch Lite

Following months of speculation, Nintendo finally unveiled the Switch Lite this month. The news is obviously a major deal for GameStop, which will be selling the hardware in a couple of months.

Marvel writer Marc Sumerak lent his talents to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. Rather than piggybacking off of the previous two entries, this game starts from scratch, and Sumerak had to figure out how to bring the huge roster together in a cohesive way.
