WWE 2K19 seems to be skipping Switch this year
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Last year, WWE 2K18 made it to Switch. It was the first time the series appeared on a Nintendo console since WWE ’13 on Wii.
Unfortunately, that seems to have been a short return. 2K announced WWE 2K19 today, and Switch is nowhere to be seen in the press release. There’s always a possibility that it could be announced later in the year, but it’s unlikely given that NBA 2K19 was recently revealed for Switch alongside all other platforms.
WWE 2K18 did launch on Switch in a terrible state. The game suffered from severe technical problems, including frame rate drops and actual slowdown. 2K may have felt that this year’s entry wouldn’t be possible on Switch or wouldn’t be worth the extra effort.

Panic Button has quickly become an expert when it comes to Switch ports. Having worked on the Switch versions of Bethesda’s Doom and Wolfenstein II as well as Rocket League, the studio knows how to get demanding titles up-and-running on the system.
Speaking with MCV, Panic Button boss Adam Creighton spoke about the window between a game’s initial release date and the Switch release. He says the window is “shrinking all the time for those publishers and developers who are planning on Switch at the outset.”

Fortnite is breaking the mold with voice chat on Switch. The game has its own in-game voice chat functionality, meaning you don’t need to use the Nintendo Switch Online app in order to communicate with others.
In light of this news, Turtle Beach confirmed today it now offers 25 headsets in its current product lineup (not including prior legacy models) that are fully compatible with Fortnite’s in-game chat system on Switch. The company also revealed two new products at E3 last week – the Recon 200 and Stealth 300 – that are both optimally built for Fortnite on Switch as well as other Battle Royale games.
