On December 17, Minecraft will finally be heading to Wii U. We have a quick look at the game now below.

I’ve never actually played Minecraft before, so I was kind of messing around more than anything! You can see the controls, look at the options, see some of the tutorial, and watch me doing random things in the Skyrim world for a tiny bit.

Nintendo has gone live with the fifth and final “Survival Guide” episodes for Xenoblade Chronicles X. You can watch the new video below.

Devil Survivor Overclocked’s North American 3DS eShop sale has begun. Until 8:59 PM PT / 11:59 AM ET on December 28, you can pick up the game for just $10. It normally costs $29.99.

During id Software’s very early days, a demo was created for Super Mario Bros. 3. This wasn’t an ordinary demo, however, as it was actually running on a PC.

id Software originally created “Dangerous Dave In Copyright Infringement”, a recreation of World 1-1 featuring characters from John Romero’s Dangerous Dave. The Super Mario Bros. 3 demo was based on this. Nintendo was presented with it, but didn’t sign off on the project since they wanted to keep Mario on its own systems.

25 years later, a video showing the Super Mario Bros. 3 PC demo was shared by Romero on Vimeo today – watch it below. It’s a neat little piece of gaming history!

Guitar Hero Live has added a new feature in GHTV. As of today, players can participate in Rival Challenges. These pit players against similarly skilled matchmade players in a 1-on-1 song battle.

Here’s the full breakdown of how Rival Challenges work:

– To unlock Rival Challenges, you will need to be level 10 or higher. We decided this because once you hit level 10, you will have gained access to Guitar Upgrades and accumulated some Hero Powers, which we think introduces fun and interesting layers of competition.
– Rival Challenges will occur twice in every half-hour show. The song choices will be picked by us, so you’ll always need to be ready!
– Your opponent will be of relatively close skill level, paired with you through our underlying matchmaking technology.
– The winner of each battle earns an extra +100 Status XP, along with bragging rights of course.
– Another bonus is showing off the personalisation items you’ve earned in GHTV. When a battle kicks off, both you and your opponent will see each other’s playercard and note highway on screen.

There are a couple of other new things in Guitar Hero Live as well. You can now mark a song as a “favorite”, and one free song play token will be provided each day if you log into GHTV with zero plays.
