Details continue to trickle out about Minecraft: Wii U Edition. This time information, we have some extra information about how multiplayer will be handled.
Here’s some information straight from a Microsoft Studios blog post:
“Minecraft: Wii U Edition will have full play on the GamePad controller’s screen and split-screen play. As with the rest of the versions in Minecraft: Console Edition, it will support four players locally and up to eight players online.”

Gone Home no longer planned for Wii U
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 26 Comments
Gone Home was re-announced for consoles a few hours ago, with the game receiving a January launch on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. But conspicuously missing was any mention of a Wii U version.
You may remember that we heard about an eShop edition in August of last year. However, although the console version is happening once again, it appears that there are no plans to resume work on the Wii U release – for now anyway.
Fullbright developer Steve Gaynor passed along the news on Twitter:
@DonaldMick @broodwars64 yeah we're only doing XB1/PS4 versions at this point

Pokemon Go dev now has an office in Japan
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Mobile, News | 4 Comments
Niantic, developer of the mobile game Pokemon Go, has opened up an office in Japan. This will be the company’s first subsidiary overall.
The office was created on December 3 in Tokyo’s Minato ward. It’ll be used to develop top-level real-world games as well as a platform using AR and mapping. Industry insider Dr. Serkan Toto also offers up the following speculation:
“Generally speaking, Japanese gaming companies (I mean Nintendo in this specific case) love going vertical by becoming platforms if any opportunity to do so opens up: so it might very well be that Pokemon is not the only Nintendo mobile game that will make use of AR and GPS going forward.”

Hive Jump will let you use amiibo to unlock challenges and treasures
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 4 Comments
During the Nindies@Night event a few months back, amiibo support was announced for the indie game Hive Jump. Developer Graphite Lab has since shared a little bit of additional information about what we should expect from the functionality.
In a recent interview, it was stated that you can use amiibo to unlock “custom challenges and unique treasures”. It’s a work-in-progress though, so Graphite Lab can’t share any other information just yet.
Here’s the full quote:
“Let me start by saying we would LOVE to have Samus in the game, but I don’t know if that is on the table. There are a lot of very good reasons why a cameo might not make sense for our game right now. We are planning on including custom challenges and unique treasures which could only be unlocked with amiibo. This feature is still in development so we’re not at a point where we can share more just yet.”
