The Castle Game was announced nearly a year ago – August 2014. We haven’t heard about it much since, but we do know that it remains in the works.

Neptune Interactive’s Ayngaran Vamatheva reconfirmed to Toronto GameDevs that The Castle Game remains on track for Wii U. However, it’s been put on the back burner while the team focuses on the PlayStation 4 version. Vamatheva said that Neptune Interactive will likely be returning to development of the Wii U version for release in 2016.

He said:

“We’ve put a pause on it in order to get the PS4 version out. We’ll probably get back to it to release for next year. It is a fun console, especially with the second screen. I’d love to take advantage of it for our game, but it is not as straightforward as it might seem.”

SonicStadium.org has found evidence that Sonic Classic Collection for DS was originally planned to include more games and content, as well as concept art for a Crazy Taxi 4 Pitch.

The info comes via former SEGA Studios Australia employee Brooke Luder’s portfolio, specifically an image that includes logos for Sonic SpinballSonic 3D Blast, and Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, all of which were never included in the retail game. Luder’s resume also indicates that video content was planned at one point. Check out the gallery below for more images.

Perhaps even more intriguing is concept art for a Crazy Taxi 4 pitch. No information is given on the proposed game, but the single image shows a cab driver jumping from one cab to another.
