Nintendo customer service rep says fans can “submit any video-game character” for Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U | 144 Comments
If comments from a Nintendo customer service representative are anything to go by, fans should be able to submit “any video-game character” for the Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot. That would include third-party characters, which some thought weren’t be an option with a recent Facebook post from Nintendo.
Here’s what the customer service representative wrote to one fan:
Thanks for writing to us. I can certainly understand your interest in if third-party characters are eligible for the Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot. I want to assure you that you are able to submit any video-game character for this ballot. While we are unable to guarantee your suggested character will become a Super Smash Bros. Fighter, rest assured, we do take all feedback into consideration.
I never consider what’s said by a Nintendo customer service representative to be the final word on anything, but this is certainly encouraging!

A little Easter egg has been discovered within the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 30th anniversary website. If you check the source code, you’ll notice that Mario himself is hidden inside! This is actually not on the North American site as far as I can tell.

Splatoon isn’t too large of a game, especially compared to some other retail titles for Wii U. Nintendo’s website says that the size is just 1812 MB.
Splatoon launches on May 29. It will be available both physically and digitally.
Splatoon runs smoothly at 60fps, early tech analysis says
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Videos, Wii U | 13 Comments
Splatoon still has roughly two months to go before launch, but the folks at Digital Foundry have already published an early technical analysis for the game. Digital Foundry particularly looks at Splatoon’s frame rate, which runs at a “near flawless” 60fps. There is only “the occasional dropped frame detracting from the fluidity – mostly unnoticeable in action, and something that could well be ironed out in the game’s final run of optimisation.”
You can check out a video testing Splatoon’s frame rate above. Digital Foundry’s full report is located here.
