It appears that the previously download only Dragon Quest X will in fact be getting a retail release, but not the release you would expect. The game does include a cartridge version of the game, but offers an eShop code to download the game as well as 60 days of online play. Also included is a Lemon Slime Board Prism, a Dollboard customization that can be used in game as well as a poster, five Large Experience Point Ancient Documents (another in-game item that grants players 1000 experience instantly), a Casino Coin ticket, redeemable for 1000 Casino Coins in game and a lottery card that gives players a whole host of items like 100 mini-medals, Dollserine fuel and MP recovering water.

Nintendo of America today shared this year’s rewards for members who reach either Gold or Platinum on their Club Nintendo accounts. All rewards come in the form of downloadable games and members have the ability to download one of the titles free of charge.

In Japan, Square Enix has released four more downloadable tracks and one new character for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call.

Peter Warman, CEO of video game research firm Newzoo, shared an overview of Sonic’s lifetime sales in different territories with Fortune.

The Blue Blur is most popular in the United States, which is where about half of the total sales have originated from. Europe makes up another 35 percent, with the remaining 15 percent of sales stemming from other countries like Japan.

As stated by Warman:

On 3DS, Dragon Quest X uses streaming technology to run the game. It turns out that this version is built with Ubitus GameCloud middleware similar to the Android version from NTT DoCoMo.

Ubitus CEO Ubitus Wesley Kuo said of the news:

“Ubitus is thrilled to bring the national flagship title from Square Enix to Nintendo’s bestselling Nintendo 3DS portable gaming console through our GameCloud technology. We’ve seen the Japanese boxart for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Who’s the monster starring on the cover?

According to this week’s issue of Jump, it’s none other than the Thousand Blade Dragon Selregios. The magazine says that Selregios is a tough winged monster with strong legs, who has golden scales extending from its back and a single long horn protruding from its forehead.
