Update: Debunked. The quote now reads:

“Let me think about that. Well the Metal Gear series is always coming in and out of my ‘field’. We have put bids out on it a couple of times. Raiden was always a character that I had wanted to play. I did end up playing him on PlayStation All-Stars (*amended at the request of Mr.Langdon); so I actually did kind of end up playing him eventually (* Amended- Reuben here is referring to playing Raiden in Mocap- not as a voice actor). But NOT to the extent that he exists in the other games.”

Original: I’m only going to mention this in passing – at least for now – since this may be a misunderstanding or plain confusion. But as the title reads, there’s talk of Raiden playing some sort of role in the new Smash Bros.

When asked in a recent interview about a franchise he’d like to appear in, voice actor Reuben Langdon said:

Let me think about that. Well the Metal Gear series is always coming in and out of my ‘field’. We have put bids out on it a couple of times. Raiden was always a character that I had wanted to play. I did end up playing him on Super Smash Bros; so I did end up playing him eventually. NOT to the extent that he is in the other games.

Langdon’s comments have led to speculation that Raiden will be in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be playable though, nor does it exactly confirm Snake’s appearance. I’d personally advise taking all of this with a grain of salt until we have some sort of clarification.

This week’s Jump has four more character confirmations for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call. Eiko from Final Fantasy IX, Jecht from Final Fantasy X, Fran from Final Fantasy XII, and Noel from Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be included in the game. More details for Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth have come in from Famitsu. You can find them below.

– Can visit the Velvet Room over the course of the game
– Persona 3‘s Elizabeth and Theodore, and Persona 4?s Margaret and Marie will provide support
– While Marie is singled out as not being an official resident of the Velvet Room for this game, she is still set to give her unique brand of mouthy assistance
– Specifics on this haven’t been detailed yet
– Every party member will now be able to enter the Velvet Room instead of only the protagonists
– Velvet Room’s layout will change
– Has a pair of mysterious locked doors
– Elizabeth has two main jobs this time
– She’ll have requests that players can go out and fulfill in exchange for rewards
– Nature of these requests are mostly mum
– They’re said to be jotted down in a specific “Request Notebook” whose contents are based on the Seven Wonders of Yasogami High School that previous trailers have depicted
– Complete quests to trigger special events
– Elizabeth’s second role is as a nurse that players can visit after making trips to the game’s labyrinths
– Heal your party health-wise and status effects-wise
– Theodore runs the workshop
– Defeat the Shadows in the labyrinths to obtain the raw materials necessary for developing equipment and consumable items at Theodore’s workshop
– He wears pink and red apron with a heart in the middle
– There’s a backstory to this but the details haven’t been shared

Miiverse has received another small update today. Two small changes have been first.

First, users will now be directed to the Communities screen when logging in to Miiverse on the web. Second, those without Nintendo Network IDs can now view all popular posts as well as comments on those posts.
