Pokemon Sun/Moon – Magearna QR code for Europe and Australia

Yesterday, a QR code was distributed for North America so that Pokemon Sun/Moon players could unlock Magearna. Now we have the equivalent for Europe and Australia.
After completing the main story, choose the QR Scanner feature. Then simply scan the image below to obtain Magearna. You’ll just need to visit the deliveryman in the Antiquities of the Ages shop in Hau’oli City to finish the process.

Monster Hunter XX – Congalala returns, Renkin Style details

In the latest issue of Famitsu due out tomorrow, the magazine provides ten pages of Monster Hunter XX coverage. Some of the information has leaked early, revealing the return of Congalala and sharing details about the Renkin Style.

Pokemon Shuffle update (12/6/16): Mega Abomasnow, Tyrantrum, Infernape, Emboar

Pokemon Shuffle’s weekly update features a Mega Stone competition, this time a return of Mega Abomasnow. The competition will run until December 13. To earn the Abomasite (if you don’t already have it), you’ll need to be in the top 12,000 players in Europe, 18,000 players in North America, or 60,000 in Japan. Other prizes are as follows:
Anyone who already has Abomasite but qualifies to earn it will get a Level Up.
Three other stages have been added: a new stage featuring Tyrantrum, and repeat runs for Emboar and Infernape. Tyrantrum will run until the 13th, while Emboar and Infernape will run until the 20th.

Walk/run cycles for every Pokemon in Pokemon Sun/Moon found via data mining

Data miners are up to their usual tricks, and have made an interesting discovery about Pokemon Sun/Moon. The two games actually have low-polygon models and animations of each Pokemon walking and running. On top of that, some of the code may hint at Pokemon being behind you.
You can see some of the animations here. Because the models have no textures, they were applied to models used in battle.
What might this mean? Well, it could be an innocuous discovery. Others are hoping it’s a sign of things to come in the rumored Pokemon Stars on Switch.

Nintendo teams up with HackerOne, paying up to $20,000 for finding and reporting 3DS security vulnerabilities

Nintendo is now working with HackerOne to crack down on 3DS security vulnerabilities. Those who find and report such flaws can earn up to $20,000.
A post on HackerOne reads:
“Nintendo is dedicated to providing video game fans worldwide premium entertainment in a welcoming and secure environment. To that end, Nintendo invites highly skilled researchers to find and address vulnerabilities on the Nintendo 3DS handheld system that could jeopardize that environment. Nintendo is committed to creating a better game-play experience for all through those actions.”
Nintendo hopes to prevent piracy, cheating, and dissemination of inappropriate content to children. ARM11 and ARM9, low-cost cloning, and security key detection are specifically called out when it comes to vulnerabilities.
