Although specific sales figures haven’t been provided just yet, Metroid Dread is off to a strong start in the UK. We’re hearing that it’s now the biggest launch for the series in the region ever. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on Wii previously held that milestone. Furthermore, this is without factoring in digital downloads of Metroid Dread.

Metroid Dread is indeed doing well, but a few other Switch titles have outperformed it this year. It follows behind Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, Monster Hunter Rise, and New Pokemon Snap.

Nintendo has published a couple of commercials for Mario Party Superstars featuring the Japanese idol group King & Prince. Both adverts can be seen below.

Sakuna Of Rice and Ruin art book

Thanks to PIE International, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is getting an official art book. It will include character designs plus sketches, prop designs, background art, package illustrations, and more. The book will also have comments from director Nal, main artist Ryota Murayama, and Koichi (general / planning assistance).

What might be the most noteworthy aspect of the book is that it will actually feature English text. It’ll be included right alongside all of the Japanese information. The book has thus far only been announced for Japan, but even if we don’t see it in North America / Europe, importing will be an option. Play-Asia actually already has pre-orders here.
