Genshin Impact

Since Genshin Impact’s initial reveal, the open-world action RPG has drawn plenty of comparisons to Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Developer miHoYo has now issued a statement about the matter.

Speaking with FreeMMOStation, miHoYo said that Nintendo’s Switch title was an inspiration, but says the two titles are ultimately different. The studio noted that “Genshin Impact features a fully original story and characters, and the core gameplay revolves around assembling a party of multiple characters and engaging in a combat system based on interactions between different elements.”

Original: Earlier this week, we heard that the Animal Crossing: New Horizons-themed Switch was coming back in stock. Nintendo has now officially announced the news.

Pine

A major 2.0 update has gone live for the Switch version of Pine. The game has received big performance stability gains, reduced loading times, increased world density, improved combat, and much more.

Immortals: Fenyx Rising

IGN has shared another video for Immortals Fenyx Rising in which the directors break down a selection of the game’s mythological creatures and how they were designed. Watch the video below.

Immortals Fenyx Rising will be making its way to Switch on December 3.

R-Type Final 2

Granzella today shared the third trailer for R-Type Final 2, its upcoming side-scrolling shoot ’em up game for Switch. We’ve included the video below.

R-Type Final 2 is scheduled to arrive on Switch in Spring 2021. It will be sold both physically and digitally.

Mario Kart Tour

Mario Kart Tour is officially a year old. The mobile game first came to iOS and Android on September 25, 2019.

Nintendo has recognized the milestone, and has confirmed that the next major event in Mario Kart Tour will be the 1st Anniversary Tour. More information will be shared “at a later time.”

Mario Kart Tour just kicked off its Los Angeles Tour this week. It won’t end until October 6, so it’ll be awhile until we hear more about the 1st Anniversary Tour.

Nintendo eShop

No More Robots has quite a bit of experience with Switch having published four games. This year alone the company has brought Not Tonight: Take Back Control Edition, Yes, Your Grace, Nowhere Prophet, and Hypnospace Outlaw to the system.

With everything learned thus far, No More Robots’ co-founder Mike Rose published a lengthy thread on Twitter today that gives very interesting insight into the eShop. Rose discussed sales and discounts, the importance of Metacritic, and much more.

Monster Hunter Stories 2

In the original Monster Hunter Stories on 3DS, players were able to customize the character they played as. Capcom has now confirmed that the feature will be returning in Monster Hunter Stories 2.

Although specifics weren’t shared, a slide shown during a TGS stream today gave an idea as to what fans can expect. It looks like you’ll be able customize hairstyles, hair colors, skin colors, and more.

Dead by Daylight Cybil Bennett

Dead by Daylight isn’t done with its Silent Hill collaboration. The Cybil Bennett Legendary Set for Cheryl Mason is now available as part of the Silent Hill Legends Collection.

Dwerve

Following a successful Kickstarer campaign, Half Human Games’ Zelda-inspired tower defense dungeon crawler RPG Dwerve has been secured for Switch.

The project managed to go well beyond its $10,000 goal. Having raised more than $50,000 in total, a Switch version has been confirmed.
