Nintendo Switch

It’s no secret that Switch supply has been limited around the world. The coronavirus pandemic has heavily impacted production, and while Nintendo expects things to pick up again by the summer, it’s possible that shipments may continue to be affected through the end of 2020.

A report from Bloomberg notes that Nintendo “is struggling to procure some essential components for its popular Switch console due to government-imposed lockdowns in Malaysia and the Philippines, likely limiting its production this year”. Malaysia is involved with printed circuit boards, and the Philippines is also necessary for passive components that attach to those PCBs. Because of the coronavirus, both countries have limited business operations and travel.

Nintendo has offered a look at the new Animal Crossing: New Horizons theme in Tetris 99, which can be obtained through the upcoming 13th Maximus Cup. Check out a bit of footage below.

After reaching its funding goal on Kickstarter, the Mega Man X-inspired 3D action-platformer Protodroid DeLTA will be released on Switch. Creator Adam Kareem has raised over $20,000 so far with three weeks remaining in the campaign.

Here’s an overview of the game:

Nintendo has announced that the 13th Maximus Cup will take place in Tetris 99 this weekend. As part of the event, players can earn an in-game Animal Crossing: New Horizons theme. Simply earn 100 points while it’s active to obtain it.

The new Maximus Cup will kick off on May 15 at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET, lasting until May 18 at 11:59 PM PT / May 19 at 2:59 AM ET.

The latest Max Raid Battle event is up and running in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. It’s highlighted by the appearance of Gigantamax Pikachu – including Shiny Gigantamax Pikachu – which is appearing for the first time.

In the past, players needed to have save data from Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu in order to obtain this Gigantamax form. We assume there will be a similar event for Eevee in the future. Just like Pikachu, you currently need save data from Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee to obtain its Gigantamax form.

Gigantamax Pikachu should be pretty easy to find in Pokemon Sword/Shield. We’re hearing that it’s popping up in all of the dens in the Wild Area.
