Mario Kart Tour

Nintendo recently announced their next mobile game, Mario Kart Tour. They didn’t really divulge any details beyond the game’s name, other than a very vague release date of “fiscal year 2018”. However, we learned a pretty crucial fact today. According to Wall Street Journal reporter Takashi Mochizuki, Isao Moriyasu, the CEO of DeNA, Nintendo’s partner in the mobile games business, said that Mario Kart Tour would be “free-to-start”, like Fire Emblem Heroes and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

Developer Broken Rules has announced that Old Man’s Journey will hit the Switch eShop in Europe and North America on February 20th. Old Man’s Journey is a puzzle adventure game with a very unique art style.

The official Fire Emblem Heroes Twitter account has revealed the current standings of the A Hero Rises voting event, whose winner will be made available for free to all players.

The top 20 are in the image below. As you can see, the top four are Ike: Vanguard Legend, Hector: General of Ostia, Tharja: “Normal Girl” and Azura: Lady of Ballads. Currently, those four would make it into the second round of the vote, which would then determine the overall winner. However, there are still five days left to vote in the first round, so get your votes in here.

A new weapon will be added to Splatoon 2 pretty soon, and this time, it’s a variant of a weapon that debuted in Splatoon 2. The Custom Goo Tuber is identical to the regular Goo Tuber in terms of stats, but comes with the Curling Comb sub-weapon and the Inkjet special instead. It’ll be available in-game tomorrow around noon in Japan and Australia, early in the morning in Europe and later tonight in North America.

Update: Bumped to the top. The European Switch eShop lists Samurai Aces for the same day – probably the same for North America then.


Update: We recently heard that Zerodiv has been preparing a series of new arcade games for Switch. The Japanese eShop now confirms that Samurai Aces is due out next week.

We have some Switch screenshots below:

Samurai Aces was originally released by Psikyo in 1993. The vertical shooter has six characters, each with a unique plane and primary / secondary and bomb attacks.

Samurai Aces will be available on February 15 for 864 yen.
