Sparkle 2 hitting the Switch eShop next week

The marble shooter Sparkle 2 is heading to the Switch eShop next week, 10tons has announced. The game will be out on September 28 for $7.99.

Kotaku editor-in-chief Stephen Totilo reached out to a local New York GameStop yesterday to find out if the store had any Switch units available. Oddly, Totilo was told that he would only be sold the system if he purchased a $50 warranty.
Kotaku editor Cecilia D’Anastasio then called other GameStops and visited a few outlets. Four GameStop locations in New York City did have Switch units in stock, though would only sell them in bundles, which could include just a warranty and a game or a warranty, two games and a case. A number of employees said it was something they “had” to do.

Wii U and 3DS maintenance taking place early next week

Wii U and 3DS online services will be down a few days from now. Online play of games on both platforms may be influenced.
The maintenance schedule is as follows:
– 6 PM PT (September 25) – 9 PM PT (September 25)
– 9 PM ET (September 25) – 12 AM ET (September 26)
– 2 AM in the UK (September 26) – 5 AM in the UK (September 26)
– 3 AM in Europe (September 26) – 6 AM in Europe (September 26)

Super Mario Odyssey map may reveal major discovery of a new region

A short while ago, we posted a new Super Mario Odyssey advert from Japan. The image itself is nice and all, but when you look at it more closely, something very interesting is potentially revealed.

Special outfit codes for Pokken Tournament DX

Super Mario Odyssey advertising starts in Japan

We’re just over a month away until Super Mario Odyssey hits store shelves. As a result, Nintendo is ramping up its promotional efforts. Ads are starting to appear in Japan, including the one pictured above.

The Evil Within 2 producer says “a Switch version would be interesting”

After working at Capcom and being involved with many Resident Evil games over the years, Shinji Mikami founded his own studio Tango Gameworks back in 2010. He then partnered with Bethesda and went back to his survival roots to create The Evil Within. Next month, that game is getting a sequel.
In an interview with Mikami, GameSpot asked potentially bringing the game to Switch. He said in response:
