Nintendo Switch 2 leakers Kamiya

Hideki Kamiya, who is now working at his new studio Clovers on Okami 2, has gone on a lengthy rant regarding Nintendo Switch 2 leakers.

Nintendo finally unveiled its new system today. However, that wasn’t before tons of different leaks surfaced online over the past few months. Everything previously reported about the system was pretty much spot on, including the new Joy-Con. Even the actual announcement date of the reveal turned out to be correct.

Nuclear Throne physical

There’s another physical release in the works from Super Rare Games, and the company has announced that Nuclear Throne is getting the boxed treatment on Nintendo Switch.

4,000 units will be up for grabs. You’ll get a slip cover, a full-color manual, an exclusive sticker, and a trading card pack.

Nintendo Switch modded arrest Japan

The first arrest has been made in Japan for Nintendo Switch systems that were illegally modded.

Police arrested the 58 year-old man on January 15 on suspicion of violating the Trademark Act. He’s believed to have welded modified parts to the circuit board of second-hand systems purchased in March last year. The man then went on to sell them on a flea market app for 28,000 yen each.


Backrooms Level X

Firenut Games and José Manuel Conesa Hernández are teaming up on the release of Backrooms Level X, the two sides announced today. It’s coming to Nintendo Switch later in 2025.

Backrooms Level X is a first-person narrative survival horror game. Following a freak accident, players end up in the Backrooms where they’ll need to survive.

Nintendo Switch 2 launch shipment numbers

A new report from Bloomberg may give us insight into the shipment numbers for Nintendo Switch 2 and what it could mean for launch.

The publication has information from Robin Zhu, an analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein. Ahead of today’s announcement, it was claimed that Nintendo has prepared a supply chain network that will allow Nintendo to sell over 20 million units in its first year.

Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma release date

January 14: Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma now has a release date. As reported by Famitsu, the game launches on May 30, 2025.

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma was previously teased with a Project Dragon subtitle before the final name was shared last summer. Last we heard, it was planned for this spring, which Marvelous is sticking with.

Mirage: Ignis Fatuus

Illam has passed along word that its new game Mirage: Ignis Fatuus will be on Nintendo Switch in a few months. Expect it on April 18, 2025.

Mirage: Ignis Fatuus is a puzzle RPG in which reality shifts with every glance. Players will control a cuboid as they look to save the town of Mirage, which is running out of Mana.

Switch 2 Mario Kart Donkey Kong

If you checked out the just-released announcement trailer for Nintendo Switch 2, you may have noticed something interesting about the Mario Kart game shown: there’s an updated design for Donkey Kong, and it seems pretty similar to his look in The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Just one game was shown alongside the reveal of the hardware. That was indeed Mario Kart, and given how it’s the best-selling title on the current Nintendo Switch by far, that probably makes sense.
