Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 9 Comments
Youkai Watch is very, very big in Japan. So it should come as no surprise that the series’ latest entry, Youkai Watch 2: Shinuchi, is already causing a craze.
Famitsu took a few photos outside Biccamera in Toshima, Tokyo’s Ikebukuro district. Youkai Watch 2: Shinuchi went on sale starting at 8 AM at most stores, though Famitsu arrived an hour earlier. The line started out with 50 people, but quickly grew to 100 by the time the game went on sale.

New Splatoon information shared by official Twitter
Posted on 10 years ago by Vincent Ward in News, Screenshots, Wii U, Wii U eShop | 2 Comments
The creators of Splatoon went to Twitter to update us on how the game keeps track of your points and how much detail they’re putting into the game, and thanks to some folks over at NeoGAF, we have the tweets translated and ready to read!

“Report from the Squid Research Laboratory. In Turf Battles, the amount of area covered by ink becomes your points. The number of times you knocked out enemies and the number of times you were knocked out is counted to, but these don’t contribute to your score. This means that the ones who spread the most ink are the best.”

“Squid lovers may already be aware of this but a squid’s jaw is called a ‘beak’, and is firm and sharp much like a bird’s is. Looking closely, you will notice that the Inkling’s teeth also have an interesting shape. By the way, the meat around the beak on a real squid is crunchy and tasty.”

Mario Party 10 receives Australian rating

Mario Party 10 has now been classified in Australia. I’m not sure if this was mentioned before, but it now looks like we have official confirmation that NDCUBE is the main developer of the project. They’ve led the way on the past few Mario Party games, so that shouldn’t be a big shock to most!

Sonic Riders was once planned for GBA
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in GBA, News | 0 comments
Sonic Riders was once in development for the Game Boy Advance, according to the portfolio and resumes for artists Keith Erickson’s portfolio and Arvin Bautista.
Backbone Entertainment was developing the handheld port for the GBA alongside the PSP edition. However, the version for Nintendo’s portable was cancelled after SEGA’s Japanese division saw the game and requested they incorporate more 3D. Because the engine would have needed a complete overhaul, the project was scrapped.
