Tangledeep

Tangledeep didn’t end up making its originally scheduled Q2 2018 release window on Switch, but we do have an actual release date finally. Impact Gameworks announced today that the dungeon crawler is due out on January 31.

Here’s an overview for Tangledeep plus a trailer:

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid

Yesterday, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid was revealed, and it’s coming to Switch. nWay, which made the mobile game Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, is also working on this title. Despite that, Battle for the Grid isn’t a port.

Power Rangers: Legacy Wars has been built from the ground up for consoles. Additionally, there will be new battle mechanics and different movesets for each character. Something that also may lower concerns is that pro fighting game player Justin Wong is helping out development on balancing the characters.

Power Rangers: Legacy Wars is launching digitally on Switch in April.

Angry Video Game Nerd I & II is currently in development for consoles, FreakZone Games has announced. It’s playable for the first time at PAX South this weekend.

FreakZone is keeping quiet about platforms, but the studio said fans “will be very happy.” The developer added the following when asked about Switch: “Now allowed to say yet. But I think it’s clear where the nerd belongs.”

Kemco’s lineup of RPGs on Switch continue, as the company has announced Alvastia Chronicles for the eShop. A release is planned for February 7.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Nintendo published a neat little statistic on their Japanese website today: the 30 most downloaded games on the Japanese eShop in 2018. Just like the download charts on the eShop itself, there are two lists: one for games that also have physical versions and one for games that are only available on the eShop. Unsurprisingly, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate takes the top spot in the first list. Human: Fall Flat being the most downloaded digital-only title is a bit more surprising, however.
