Switch eShop

A new video is in showcasing the just-released Switch version of Little Inferno. About 16 minutes of gameplay can be seen below.

As of now, SteamWorld Dig 2 will be a digital title on Switch. The game could eventually go the physical route as well.

In a Reddit AMA, Image & Form community manager Julius Guldbog said the team is “looking into” the possibility of SteamWorld Dig 2 seeing a retail release. Guldbog added in a separate comment:

“No word on a physical release yet. We’re in the talks with distributors, but have nothing to announce at this moment. BUT SteamWorld Collection did REALLY well for us, so physical makes a lot of sense.”

Guldbog was also asked throughout the AMA about bringing past SteamWorld entries to Switch. Image & Form would “love” to make that happen, but SteamWorld Dig 2 is the focus for the time being.

Human Resource Machine is one of three Tomorrow Corporation games heading to the North American Switch eShop today. Take a look at some footage below.

We originally posted about Battle Princess Madelyn last month. In February, Casual Bit Games confirmed the project for Switch and Wii U. What we didn’t know at the time though is that a Kickstarter campaign would be involved.

For those interested in Battle Princess Madelyn, the game is seeking $60,000 (CA) in funding. It just opened with a month to go, and already has generated about $7,500. Assuming the goal is met, Battle Princess Madelyn will be on both of Nintendo’s consoles in the future.

We previously heard that Tomorrow Corporation was planning local multiplayer for World of Goo on Switch and possibility its other two games. The team decided against having it in Human Resource Machine since “it would be too chaotic for a game that needs such concentration,” though it could possibly be added in the future. However, we can say that Little Inferno will in fact have multiplayer.

Tomorrow Corporation wrote in a new blog update:

“The brand new Switch Edition is the first and only version of Little Inferno to feature multiplayer. Now you can drag a friend through your personal existential crisis! It’s incredibly satisfying to rip things apart and burn it all down with a friend. Also perfect for couples.”

It sounds like, at least in the case of Little Inferno, that local multiplayer will be added in about a week via a title update. That’s because the original game in its single-player form was approved first, followed by multiplayer. We’ll keep you informed about the patch when we hear something new.

Nintendo World Report has shared more off-screen footage of ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove from its appearance at PAX. View the video below.

Blaster Master Zero was reportedly going to receive an update on March 16. Well, it’s already tomorrow in Japan and version 1.1 is now live.

The only relevant note about this update is that it adds support for the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. To receive this patch you just need to launch the game while being connected to the Internet. And of course, you can check which version of Blaster Master Zero are you playing by looking below the game title in the title screen.

Another Neo Geo game is joining the Arcade Archives series tomorrow. In Europe and Japan at least, The King of Fighters ’94 will be available.

Hamster confirms the news for Japan on its Twitter page. As for Europe, we’re able to see the game’s listing on the eShop. The status for North America is unclear, but The King of Fighters ’94 should be out soon regardless.

Here’s a video:

Prismatic Games is sticking to its original plans about bringing Hex Heroes to Wii U. However, it sounds like it’s only a matter of time until it makes an appearance on Switch.

In a Kickstarter update, Prismatic Games spoke about attempting to obtain a dev kit from Nintendo, but hasn’t been successful so far. It’s somewhat difficult for smaller indies to obtain the hardware, and the big N is prioritizing new games over ports currently.

Prismatic further added on Kickstarter:

“Think of HH on Wii U like a work in progress as we implement polish and balancing while we prepare Hex Heroes for Switch. With the various classes, monsters, and ways to play, there’s a considerable amount to fine tune. We also want to simultaneously launch HH on Steam through their Early Access program. This would further enforce the idea that the game is being tweaked and balanced and updated frequently. (And to our beta backers, we’ll still get a build out to you before we release on Wii U and Steam)

This method of launch will ensure the Switch will see the most polished version with all past updates and even some exclusive content to make it more than just a direct port! We’ve heard your concerns about how some of you have since sold/traded in your Wii U’s and we’re looking into an upgrade program – either allowing users to directly change their Wii U backer key to a Switch one, or by offering a discount for the Switch version if the Wii U one is owned. That decision rests with Nintendo.”

Several Neo Geo games from the Arcade Archives are already available on the Switch eShop. Early on though, players were noticing issues pertaining to brightness and sound.

Developer Hamster has been quick to address the problems. We’re hearing that updates are now out for the various games. They should be updated to version 1.0.1.
