NEO: The World Ends with You was given a proper blowout this week with a release date and trailer as well as quite a few details. Also revealed was a collector’s edition for Japan. While Square Enix won’t be offering that directly in the west, there is something similar.

The Square Enix store has a listing up for a NEO: The World Ends with You special merchandise set. It comes with a pin badge set, Mr. Mew pouch, and record bag. Unfortunately, the soundtrack CD and art book from the Japanese collector’s edition are not included.

Here’s further information about each of the items:

Immortals Fenyx Rising

Immortals Fenyx Rising launched on Switch a few months ago, but it sounds like development wasn’t an easy task. Associate director Julien Galloudec described the process as “a challenge”.

As for the team’s approach, they looked at what can be optimized and changed while ultimately preserving the experience. Galloudec mentioned that Ubisoft is ultimately “very happy with the results on all platforms”.

Galloudec shared the following with us when asked about the Switch version of Immortals Fenyx Rising:

Shuntaro Furukawa

2020 was a strong year for Nintendo thanks to high Switch demand and the phenomenal performance of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It’s been widely reported that the title has shipped over 30 million copies worldwide.

Nikkei recently spoke with Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa, and the Japanese publication brought up how games like Animal Crossing help encourage people to stay home more in the current climate. That led Furukawa to note: “As games with long lifespans like Animal Crossing become more accepted, we believe this will have a significant impact on future development.” Additionally mentioned is that Nintendo would like to “provide games that can allow communication between friends and families.”

Furukawa stated:

After first releasing last year, the Destroy All Humans! remake is heading to Switch this summer. THQ Nordic announced plans to bring the game over earlier this week.

Thanks to retailer listings, we have the boxart above. Pre-orders are currently live on Amazon and GameStop.

Destroy All Humans! launches for Switch on June 29. We have the full announcement and trailer here.

Immortals Fenyx Rising

Ubisoft has a bunch of different franchises it tends to revisit, but it recently introduced a brand new IP in Immortals Feynx Rising. The game launched only a few months ago, but the team does have some high aspirations for its future.

Speaking with Nintendo Everything, Immortals Fenyx Rising associate director Julien Galloudec addressed the possibility of a sequel. Galloudec stated the following:

Shantae

WayForward will publish the original Shantae on Switch this month, the studio just announced. The title will launch digitally on April 22.

Shantae originally came to Game Boy Color back in 2002. It has become one of the more titles around since then.

Here’s an overview of the game, along with a trailer:

Pokemon Sword/Shield

Dream Balls are tough to come by in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, but there’s currently an easy way to add one to your inventory. During the Pokemon Players Cup 3 event, a distribution code was shared to obtain the item.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Thanks to GamesIndustry, we have new insight into the UK gaming market for March 2021.

Switch was actually in last place for consoles, selling less than the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. That being said, Switch sales are up 13.6 percent over the first three months of 2020.

Games on Nintendo’s console also performed very well. Animal Crossing: New Horizons was the best-selling boxed game of the month, with Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Monster Hunter Rise, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also in the top five.

Here’s a look at the best sellers of March:

Update (4/10): Play-Asia is taking pre-orders for the Ring Fit Adventure mat here.

Original (4/7): HORI has made a bunch of Switch accessories over the past few years, most of which are controllers. But now the company has unveiled the first ever accessory for Ring Fit Adventure.

HORI is planning to release an officially-licensed mat for the Switch title which can be used in either a folded form or fully spread depending on the exercise the player is performing. Since it’s absorbing some of the impact of you hitting the floor, it’s easier on your joints. It measures 1,800 mm x 610 mm with a thickness of 4 mm.

The Ring Fit Adventure mat is slated for June in Japan with a price point of 6,300 yen. There’s no word on a western release just yet, though importing is always an option.
