Nihon Falcom on why it isn’t doing more with Switch

Nihon Falcom doesn’t exactly have a lot of experience with Nintendo platforms. If Nippon Ichi Software didn’t offer to port Ys VIII, it probably wouldn’t have ended up on Switch.
In an interview with USgamer, Nihon Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo commented on what it would take to further suport Switch. Kondo explained that they “don’t have the knowhow” to develop for the platform and has to serve its fan base on PlayStation systems above all else. However, Nihon Falcom would be very much interested in an external company porting its titles to Switch much like we saw with Ys VIII.

Composer says Nintendo was “surprised” by the reaction to Banjo-Kazooie in Smash Bros. Ultimate

Banjo-Kazooie will finally be back on a Nintendo platform later this year when the new DLC launches for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Prior to this, the series was a platforming staple on the N64.
According to composer Grant Kirkhope, Nintendo was “surprised” by the reaction to Banjo-Kazooie’s Smash Bros. announcement. He told VGC:

Nintendo is back with the latest piece of Splatoon 2 final Splatfest art. The newest image, featuring Commander Tartar and C.Q. Cumber, can be found above. They will be siding with Team Chaos.
The final Splatfest in Splatoon 2 will be held between July 18 and July 21.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 sold 67% of its debut sales in the UK on Switch

Dragon Quest Builders 2 entered the UK charts for the first time this week, placing at the fifth spot. MCV reports that 67 percent of those sales were on Switch while only 33 percent were on PS4.
Interestingly, Dragon Quest Builders 2 landed higher on the charts in its first week compared to its predecessor, which came in at #13. That’s despite the fact that the original Dragon Quest Builders sold 22 percent more units at launch.

8Bitdo to sell SN30 Pro+ for Switch with button remapping

8Bitdo has announced the SN30 Pro+, a new controller for Switch. It features fully customizable button configurations and sensitivity levels for the joysticks, triggers and vibrations. The 8BitDo Ultimate Software also lets users create macros along with custom profiles to save settings on a game-by-game basis. Up to 20 hours of use on a single charge are promised.
Amazon is taking pre-orders for the SN30 Pro+ here. Orders should begin to ship on August 7.
