Switch

Mashable recently spoke with Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America. As part of the conversation, the site asked why Nintendo doesn’t run its business based on the suggestions from passionate fans.

Reggie said the following on that front:

Thimbleweed Park has launched on Switch, and can now be purchased on the eShop. Get a look at some footage below.

Microids previously confirmed that Gear.Club Unlimited will be sold physically. But in the United States at least, its distribution will be limited to one retailer. GameStop added a page to its site today, claiming that it will be selling Gear.Club Unlimited exclusively.

We do also know that Gear.Club Unlimited will be offered on the eShop like all physical titles. We’ve also not heard about any exclusivity in Europe.

Switch game cases can occasionally look a tad bland, but that won’t be the case with Pokken Tournament DX. Nintendo has included reversible cover art, pictured above. It’s available in both North America and Europe so that no one has to miss out on the neat design.

Microids and Eden Games have announced the full lineup of cars that will make up the Gear.Club Unlimited vehicle roster. These are the supercars you’ll be able to drive in addition to the ones previously revealed.

The entire listing is as follows:

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

Ubisoft-developed Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is now the top-selling, non-Nintendo game on the Switch according to physical sales tracked across North America and Australia. The sales demonstrate clear fan interest in crossover titles, and such success could potentially lead to future collaborations.

It’s rather surprising, but Bethesda has been one of Switch’s strongest supporters thus far. Unlike what we saw with previous console generations, the company is already preparing a few games for Nintendo’s system. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim launches in November, followed by Doom this holiday, and Wolfenstein II in 2018.

Nintendo fans will be happy to hear that this could be just the start of Bethesda’s plans for Switch. In an interview with GamesBeat, vice president of marketing and communications Pete Hines noted that they don’t intend to just release these games and stop. “We want this to be the start of a relationship that we build with Nintendo and Nintendo fans,” Hines noted.

More comments from Hines about Switch are included below. You can read the full interview on GamesBeat here.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

At the Tokyo Game Show earlier today, the primary winners announced for the Japan Game Awards 2017. Nintendo was a big winner at the event, especially due to Zelda: Breath of the Wild taking home the Grand Award.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild was also selected for the Award of Excellence along with Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon. The Pokemon games also won the Global Award for Japanese products.

Here’s the full roundup of awards:

Like all of Nicalis’ Switch games, The End is Nigh will have a physical release. And similar to the publisher’s other titles, some extras will be included.

Along with a copy of the game, Nicalis is including a full-color instruction booklet. A secret freebie has also been teased.

THQ Nordic issued the first hero spotlight for Battle Chasers: Nightwar. Below, you can find a video focusing on the old mage Knolan.

Here’s an overview of Knolan:

Knolan is a wizened old mage troubled by the rapid decline of mana – the source of all magic power in the world. In Battle Chasers: Nightwar, he is not only a powerful damage dealer, but also a strong healer capable of reviving a fallen team mate. With his huge spell book and a short temper, Knolan is far more dangerous than he may first appear. He can shoot arcane missiles, fireballs and ice lances at his enemies and unleash a devastating firestorm. One of his powerful Burst abilities is Eldritch Summon: tentacles from another plane reach out through a portal and are damaging all foes.
