Factor 5 co-founder Julian Eggebrecht appeared on the latest episode of German podcast Spieleveteranen. During the talk, Eggebrecht weighed in on Switch.

Regarding Switch’s technical performance, Eggebrecht said its between Wii U and Xbox One. However, he claims that developing is as easy or even easier than the PlayStation 4. Switch is further supported by having all modern GPU standards.

Factor 5 was thought to be dead at a few points, but they’re apparently alive and kicking again. The company even has the rights to Turrican, so perhaps that’s something that could appear on Switch in the future.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 composer Yasunori Mitsuda posted a blog update about the game’s music yesterday. It certainly seems like the RPG will have a ton of tunes to listen to.

There are five composers working on Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and it is Mitsuda who has to write all of the music scores. Given the amount of music involved, he might have to avoid doing part-time jobs in order to make it in time.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has a ton of Korok seeds to collect. With how massive Hyrule is, you can imagine just how many there are out there to find.

When you do collect all of the seeds, a reward will be waiting for you at the end. What you get though… well, let’s just say it’s interesting. If you’d like to find out for yourself, continue on below.

Sonic Mania is due out on Switch later this year. Fortunately, when it’s ready, there won’t be any compromises made to the actual release.

SEGA’s Aaron Webber told Nintendo World Report in an interview at PAX that Sonic Mania will be on Switch at the same time as other platforms. Furthermore, it will be the same price. With talk circulating about some third-party games costing more on Switch, this is certainly encouraging to hear.

Something Switch owners have noticed about the system is that games lack manuals. This comes in contrast to Nintendo’s past, and most recently, the Wii U and 3DS.

Those two systems started to phase out physical manuals. With Switch though, they almost seem to be gone completely. Zelda: Breath of the Wild nor 1-2-Switch have manuals of any sort – not even digital ones accessed on the console.

Interestingly, Yacht Club Games’ David D’Angelo informed Kotaku that Nintendo offers an option for games to have manuals on Switch. Dvelopers must manually invoke the option though.

About Shovel Knight specifically, D’Angelo said:

“You are correct that there isn’t an instruction manual. We weren’t sure how common they would be used on Nintendo Switch. It’s possible we may add it in the future, but we chose to focus on making sure the game was done since we were rushing to make launch day! We were definitely hemming and hawing about whether to pull more all-nighters to get the manuals in there.”
