Dragon Quest III HD-2D remake development

Famitsu recently spoke with Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii, and received a brief status update on the HD-2D remake of Dragon Quest III.

Speaking with the publication, Horii said that the project’s development is progressing steadily. He’s also providing advice to the team seeing as how he worked on the original game way back in the day.

Starting today, Nintendo Switch Online members can get their hands on user icons based on Super Mario RPG. This comes as the SNES remake launches around the world.

Members can spend their Platinum Points on designs for characters, backgrounds, and frames. Each one requires My Nintendo points. Characters are 10 Platinum Points each while backgrounds and frames are 5 a piece.

Batman Arkham Trilogy graphics comparison

A new video from GameXplain offers up a new graphics comparison for the Switch release Batman: Arkham Trilogy. Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight are all factored in here depending on the game.

Arkham Asylum and Arkham City were always going to be easier to port over as they originally launched on the PS3 and Xbox 360 (City was also on Wii U). However, Arkham Knight is a tougher one to convert given how it first appeared on the PS4 and Xbox One. We should get more details on the technical performance once more outlets are able to go hands-on.

Despite already putting out a “final” trailer, Square Enix today issued a launch trailer for Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince. The release is taking place in just a couple of days.

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Trilogy release date

Capcom today unveiled the final release date for Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy during the Tokyo Game Show. It will head to Switch on January 25, 2024.

Capcom first announced Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy for Switch back in June. The company originally said it would be out in early 2024.

Xbox Game Pass Switch

Xbox CFO Tim Stuart has indicated that Microsoft is interested in bringing its first-party experiences and subscription services to devices such as Switch.

Stuart’s comments were made during the Wells Fargo TMT Summit this week. He mentioned how Microsoft wants to spread its offerings to “every screen that can play games” – with Nintendo’s console getting a namedrop.

Minecraft Legends has received what’s said to be the game’s biggest content update yet.
