Splatoon 3 user icons added to Nintendo Switch Online

Original (9/8): Starting today, Nintendo Switch Online icons can claim new icons based on Splatoon 3. The first batch was just made available and comes just in time for the main game’s launch.
Nintendo is planning several waves of Splatoon 3 icons that will be cycled out on a weekly basis. Expect new batches until October 6. Fans can obtain icons for characters, backgrounds, and frames. Characters cost 10 My Nintendo Platinum Points each while everything else is 5 Platinum Points.

Mighty Goose getting a physical release on Switch

Previously an eShop-only game on Switch, Mighty Goose is now receiving a physical release. Limited Run Games is in charge of production.
Mighty Goose will only be sold as a regular copy – no special editions are planned. However, fans can also opt to pick up a bundle with the official soundtrack. Only 2,000 copies will be made, though Limited Run Games’ Amazon storefront will have it as well with its own boxart.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope story trailer

Ubisoft just issued the latest trailer for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, this time giving a look at the game’s story.
As previously detailed, a cosmic threat is growing and the Darkmess rises in a faraway lang. It’s up to Mario and the rest of the gang to save the galaxy and defat Cursa.

NieR: Automata trailer shows Engels boss

Square Enix has shared the latest look at the Switch version of NieR: Automata, and has now highlighted the Engels boss fight. This is a goliath-class machine lifeform disguised as a building, and it emits steam throughout its body to stay cool. When attacking it has firey arms.

Cuphead physical release to include The Delicious Last Course

Studio MDHR is continuing to slowly share details about the physical release of Cuphead on Switch, and we now know that The Delicious Last Course DLC will be included. We also have a look at the boxart above.
Cuphead was confirmed for physical release back in 2019, but Studio MDHR was waiting to wrap up The Delicious Last Course before turning its attention to the boxed version. The developer also reconfirmed to us this summer that the physical edition was still in the cards.

Wiglett was revealed for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet yesterday, and new details about the creature have been revealed along with a trailer.
Wiglett is a Garden Eel Pokemon. Though its appearance may remind some of Diglett, it’s actually a completely different species of Pokemon.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition gets surprise release on the eShop

In an unexpected move, it seems like the Anniversary Edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has just been made available to players via the Switch eShop.
While the game had previously been rumored to come to Switch, with a rating for it popping up recently in both Europe and Taiwan, this is still a bit of a sudden release. Regardless, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition seems to be currently available for purchase in all regions, with the option for players to either upgrade from an existing version of the game or purchase a bundle with the base game and Anniversary content both included.

Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 update out now (version 1.1.0), patch notes

Over four years after they originally came to Switch, Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 just received a new 1.1.0 update on Switch.
Both titles have additional language support. Korean, Chinese (Simplified), and Chinese (Traditional) text can be accessed after installing the update.
