The Japanese Zelda Twitter account is having more fun wither another tweet from “Malo”. In today’s message, he touches briefly on the Iron Boots.
Here’s our translation:
“…It’s Malo. He’s wearing boots made of iron… But why could he stand upside-down… Normally he should have fallen… Until the trick is exposed, I won’t let him out of my shop even for one step…”
A look at Bloodstained’s winning shader
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 15 Comments
Back in January, the Bloodstained team asked fans for their feedback about shaders. Four different background/character options were available – all of which can be seen here if you missed them. Today, the winning shader was announced.
“Background 3 / Character 3” ended up as the top selection. Interestingly, it received more than half the votes as well as twice as many as the next-most-popular option.
Main designer Koji Igarashi shared the following in a Kickstarter update:
“Like the shader poll results, we’ve decided on Character Shader 3 / Background Shader 3. Since the new character shader was so well received, we’ve also made a video of Miriam’s 3D model, reflecting some of the most recent changes we’ve made.
We thought cosplayers would especially like to see the back view of her design. The camera is the only thing that moves in the first half of the video; in the second, we’ve demonstrated the shader effect by moving the light source, as well. Please enjoy.”
And here’s the video in question:

[Review] The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
Posted on 8 years ago by Vincent Ward in Reviews, Wii U | 31 Comments
System: Wii U
Release date: March 4, 2016
Developer: Nintendo / Tantalus Media
Publisher Nintendo
Dark clouds rolled over Hyrule Field, and as I trekked down the path into my sights came a large beast with a young child tied upon his staff. Hordes of Moblins riding on boars came crashing down toward me as their leader led them my way. I quickly began shooting arrows and slashing the enemies down as they came near and tried my best to keep myself alive, and as I about to deliver what appeared to be the final blow, the beast moves us onto a bridge where our sight met at opposite ends. We charged at each other endlessly and clashed our blades together every moment we could, until after a long battle, I came out on top.
It’s moments like these that has kept The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess in the hearts of gamers for so many years. Iconic characters like Midna and Zant offered unique faces of the like fans have never seen before this iteration in the series, so it only seemed fair that after Wind Waker, it was Twilight Princesses’ time to receive an HD makeover. With added visual flair, quick fixes to old problems, and the removal of motion controls, is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess an adventure worth taking once more?

Today, GamesBeat published a new interview with Disney Infinity vice president of production John Vignocchi and Avalanche Software founder John Blackburn about the toys-to-life game. There were a bunch of topics discussed, including the possibility of a Captain EO (Michael Jackson film shown at Disney theme parks) figure, the best-selling characters, why a 4.0 release isn’t happening this year, and more.
We’ve picked out some excerpts from the interview below. You can find a ton more on GamesBeat here.
Disney Infinity 4.0 not happening this year, Disney Infinity 3.0 receiving continued support instead
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 4 Comments
Disney Interactive won’t be bringing out the next iteration of Disney Infinity. The company is instead opting to provide further support to last year’s release, Disney Infinity 3.0.
New Play Sets and characters will launch throughout 2016, which are tied into the debuts of big Disney events/theatrical releases from Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars. Judy and Nick figures from Zootopia are out today, followed by the Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set and Baloo figure from The Jungle Book on March 15.
As for Marvel Battlegrounds, Ant-Man, Black Panther, and Vision have been announced as the latest characters. A new Power Disc Pack will be sold separately and contains:
· Cosmic Cube Blast – Unleash a powerful energy blast on nearby foes
· Darkhawk’s Blast – Blast obstacles with a powerful energy beam
· Nova Corps Strike – Call upon the Nova Corps to unleash a tactical strike from above
· Ghost Rider’s Motorcycle – Take a ride on the wild side with Ghost Rider’s flaming motorcycle
Here’s the new Play Set launch trailer:
An official update on Disney Infinity 3.0 was provided during a “Disney Infinity Next” broadcast today. You can watch the full presentation below.
