Super Mario Maker version 1.20 out now

Nintendo is now sending out Super Mario Maker’s latest update – version 1.20. It features the addition of checkpoints, a hard mode for Gnat Attack, Official Makers in Course World, and more.
We’ve posted the full patch notes as a refresher below. Note that you’ll need about 314.5MB of storage space for the download.
– Added the functionality to play Event Courses Users can unlock new Mystery Mushroom costumes when they clear certain Event Courses.
– Users will be able to play courses created by Official Makers in Course World.
– Added checkpoint flags.
– Added a small Easter egg in Course Maker.
– Added a hard mode in Gnat Attack minigame.
– Other adjustments for a more pleasant gaming experience.

Star Fox Zero website references amiibo and “online features”

Earlier today we made mention of the North American Star Fox Zero teaser site. There isn’t too much that can be found there, but a couple of interesting references have been found.
Take a look at this excerpt from the very bottom of the page:

Shigeru Miyamoto has previously teased amiibo support for Star Fox Zero, so its inclusion wouldn’t be overly surprising. Online play was tentatively ruled out at E3, but Miyamoto left the door open to the possibility.

Super Mario Maker gives players a new costume for completing Gnat Attack’s hard mode

Super Mario Maker comes with the Gnat Attack mini-game. As many of you know, by completing it, it’s possible to unlock the Builder Mario costume.
Later today, Nintendo will be launching a new update for Super Mario Maker. This will add several new elements like a hard mode in Gnat Attack. The patch files are already loaded up in Japan, and it’s been revealed that beating this new mode unlocks another costume in the game. Continue on below for a first look.

Guitar Hero Live rolling out new music starting today

Guitar Hero Live players already have access to over 200 songs thanks to GHTV. Today, Activision and FreeStyleGames will begin adding in even more content that will be accessible to players who purchased the game free of charge. It’s expected that over 70 new songs will be available.
Guitar Hero Live will be introducing the following in Guitar Hero TV this week:
– Black Veil Brides Premium Show, which includes playable footage from the band’s live concert DVD “Alive and Burning,” will be live on Friday.The DVD chronicles the band’s first ever recorded live performance during their successful Black Mass Tour in November 2014 at the legendary Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. Three of the songs from the DVD will be playable in GHTV, including “Heart of Fire (Live)”, “Fallen Angels (Live)” and “In the End (Live).”
– Legendary Headliners Premium Show, including “Monster” by Paramore, “Sugar, We’re Goin Down” by Fall Out Boy and “First Date” by Blink-182 is live now.
– Pop Goes GHTV Premium Show, featuring “Chocolate” by The 1975, “Believer” by American Authors and “Budapest” by George Ezra is live now.
Other music coming to Guitar Hero Live includes playable concert footage and music videos from Judas Priest, Iggy Pop, Bully, Leon Bridges, Biffy Clyro, Weezer, Rival Sons, St. Vincent, Alice in Chains, System of a Down, Bring Me the Horizon and more.
Activision also said today that all Guitar Hero Live players will be given free on-demand access to the entire GHTV catalogue throughout the whole weekend. This starts on Friday at 7 AM ET / 4 AM PT.
