The first North American Slatfest for Splatoon was set to take place this weekend. Unfortunately, Nintendo has now announced that it has been postponed.
Writing on Twitter, Nintendo explained that a matchmaking issue was found with the first Japanese Splatfest, which caused long wait times. The company wants to resolve it before going live with the North American Splatfest.
A new date for the North American Splatfest hasn’t been revealed. However, information is promised “soon.”

Bowser and Donkey Kong Skylanders can only be obtained via the new Starter Packs for now
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii, Wii U | 13 Comments
For now at least, Activision doesn’t have plans to sell the Bowser and Donkey Kong Skylanders as separate figures. The only way to obtain them is by purchasing the Skylanders SuperChargers Starter Packs. The Wii U version comes with Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and the Barrel Blaster, while the 3DS and Wii editions feature Hammer Smash Bowser and the Clown Cruiser.
Game Informer asked Activision about the possibility of selling the Bowser and Donkey Kong figures. In response, a representative said:
“At this time, Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and Hammer Slam Bowser will be sold via the Nintendo starter packs only, as we wanted to avoid having consumers confused at retail thinking that they are playable on other platforms, as they are exclusive to Nintendo platforms.”

Activision on why this was the right time to bring back Guitar Hero
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 4 Comments
Guitar Hero games were releasing yearly between 2005 and 2010. From that point on, however, the series went on hiatus. It’s only just now that Guitar Hero is returning in the form of Guitar Hero Live.
So why bring back the franchise after all of this time? Activision’s Eric Hirshberg told GamesBeat:
We had the right idea and the right execution. We set a very high bar for ourselves internally. It’s obviously a strong brand and a strong franchise. It’s something people had a lot of love for. But it was clearly also out of gas. It was in need of meaningful reinvention. We made a deal with ourselves that we wouldn’t bring it back just to bring it back. We wouldn’t bring it back unless we felt like we had reinvented it for the next generation of gamers and hardware, and we have.
