Bayonetta 2 character modeling highlighted in new PlatinumGames blog post

PlatinumGames has posted a new Bayonetta 2 blog post covering the game’s character models.
First, check out a few excerpts below:
So, when you make something, not just for a game, but anything, you need some kind of direction in your process. When you’re making a 3D model for a game, your direction is usually provided by concept art. Because, first, you have to know what it looks like, right? Different projects will have varying levels of detail for their concept art, but, well, as long as you have one, you can start putting a model together, I guess. So, what exactly does “put together” mean?
I mean, even if you have a still image, there’s a lot of work left to be done. This character is an enemy, so it has to fulfill the role of being a THREAT to the player. So first of all, we have to make it MOVE. All we have is this piece of concept art. From that one image, we have to decide each movement, each attack the enemy can make. This means that part of the model designer’s job is to really understand the minute details of the enemy they are creating. Since it’s snake-like, it’ll probably slink around. Since it’s got wings, obviously it can fly. Does it chomp at the player? Maybe spit something at them? Also, this thing has two faces. Which is the real one? How does it make its appearance in the game, what is its personality, is it male, female…???
Initially, I see what I can come up with by myself.
And be sure to read the full thing here with lots of information (and extra clips).

Watch Dogs Dedsec and Vigilante Editions not planned for Wii U
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 28 Comments
Ubisoft prepared a few special releases for Watch Dogs in Europe, including the Dedsec and Vigilante Editions. These were originally thought to be coming to Wii U, but UK retailer GAME has now indicated otherwise.
“It is with great disappointment that we can confirm that unfortunately on this occasion Ubisoft will not be producing either the Dedsec or Vigilante editions on Wii U,” GAME said in a recent email sent out to consumers. Those who pre-ordered either of the two versions are now being switched to the GAME-exclusive Special Edition.
For those wondering, the Special Edition seems to feature a bit of exclusive digital content. It includes the “Breakthrough” mission pack as well as the “Vehicle Expert” pack. These sound like DLC items to me (unless I’m missing/misunderstanding something), which makes things a bit confusing given how, just yesterday, Ubisoft confirmed that there are no plans to bring Watch Dogs’ downloadable content to Wii U.
Thanks to Derek for the tip.

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–It’s time to fight alongside more than a dozen recognizable characters from The Legend of Zelda series to save Hyrule from a menacing new force. It’s time to dive into a crossover unlike anything Nintendo has ever done before, combining the vast universe of The Legend of Zelda franchise with the breathless fast-paced action perfected by the Dynasty Warriors games. On Sept. 26, it’s time for Hyrule Warriors.
Launching exclusively for the Wii U console, Hyrule Warriors lets players unleash the full power of iconic characters like Link, Zelda and Ganondorf, as they cut down legions of enemies on massive battlefields in familiar settings from The Legend of Zelda series like Hyrule Field, Death Mountain and Skyloft, as well as new locations created specifically for the game. The frenetic action of the Dynasty Warriors franchise blends beautifully with The Legend of Zelda series to create a unique hybrid that feels as seamless as it does bold.
