LEGO Dimensions – The Powerpuff Girls packs still happening, first details
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 2 Comments
LEGO Dimensions still hasn’t released a number of previously-announced packs, including content based on The Powerpuff Girls. Despite the lack of updates since the initial news was shared several months ago, Warner Bros. and TT Games haven’t ditched their original plans.
First details about upcoming LEGO Dimensions packs based on The Powerpuff Girls were made known when Cartoon Network announced its 2017-18 lineup this week. Two different products are planned. Along with a Team Pack, a new Fun Pack is lined up as well.
The Team Pack will Blossom and Bubbles minifigures while the Fun Pack has Buttercup. Both let players fly around in the Townsville Hub, featuring Pokey Oaks elementary, City Hall, Rainbow Land, the Pickle Museum, and Professor Utonium’s lab.
A release date for The Powerpuff Girls packs wasn’t mentioned. However, it looks like new LEGO Dimensions packs will begin to ship in May.

A new patch for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was delivered this week. Although Nintendo kept quiet about specifics, players quickly noticed that the game’s performance had been improved. Areas with frame rate drops were improved in version 1.1.1.
NX Gamer published a video yesterday that provides a good look at the performance improvements by showing what the frame rate was like before and after the update. You can watch it below, but note that one of the villages is shown.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild has realistic puddles that form and dissipate from weather cycle
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch, Wii U | 41 Comments
Zelda: Breath of the Wild has a ton of interesting little touches and details that players may not notice. All of the game’s functions interact in many different ways that affect the world.
This past week, one player shared a discovery regarding the game’s weather cycle. Four screenshots in the same area were taken showing how they evolved over time. As it was raining, a sizable pond form. Then as the sun started to come out, it shrank, and continued to do so across the remaining images. It’s pretty amazing and not something that many others were aware of before.
Here’s a look at the weather cycle in action and a puddle that forms / dissipates:
Video: LEGO City Undercover Switch vs. Wii U loading times comparison
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Switch, Videos, Wii U | 10 Comments
Nintendo World Report has a new comparison up showing how the loading times in LEGO City Undercover differ on Switch and Wii U. It’s quicker on Switch for sure, but perhaps not as much as originally expected.
You can watch the preliminary comparison below. If a patch comes out next week, it could improve loading further – but it’s unclear if that will actually happen.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild update out now (version 1.1.1)
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch, Wii U | 100 Comments
Update: Nintendo’s single note about the update: “Adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.” We’ll probably need for an outlet such as Digital Foundry to conduct tests to see if the frame rate has truly been improved, and how much.
Original: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild players now have access to a new patch. Previously, the game was at version 1.1.0. After applying the update, it will be at 1.1.1.
Nintendo has yet to provide any update notes for today’s download. Given the small change in versions, it’s likely nothing too substantial, though some say that the frame rate has been improved. We’ll let you know when we have official details about the patch.
Thanks to Pokeboy990 and Brian for the tip.
Players are defeating one of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s toughest enemies in unusual ways
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Switch, Videos, Wii U | 6 Comments
Zelda: Breath of the Wild has one enemy in particular that puts up a significant challenge. We don’t want to name any names in the introduction here, but if you’ve played the game, you probably know who we’re talking about. It’s definitely not a common enemy like the Bokoblins.
Players are finding all sorts of ways of taking down the enemy type. We’re talking a boulder, pot lid and a soup ladle, and more. Continue on below for videos showing the inventive ways of battling the enemy.
