The first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog was finally shown this week, and the reaction has not been pretty. Fans have taken issue with the design of Sonic himself. Complaints have noted that he simply looks off and not in line with what’s expected of the character.

The good news is that the team behind the movie has been listening. On Twitter just a short while ago, director Jeff Fowler thanked fans for their support and promises that there will be changes.

Petoons Studio has announced that Petoons Party is heading to Switch. The eShop title is currently lined up for Q3 of this year.

Warhammer 40000: Deathwatch – Enhanced Edition was listed for Switch over a year ago. Funbox Media had hoped to make it happen, but has now confirmed that those plans have been scrapped.

“It’s out of our control I’m afraid,” the company said. “We really wanted to release the game, but higher powers made the decision.” Funbox Media did not elaborate on the specifics behind Warhammer 40000: Deathwatch’s cancellation on Switch.

Following its announcement at Anime Expo nearly a year ago, publisher Aksys Games and Lentera have finally provided an update on Ghost Parade. The game is confirmed to be releasing this fall – both physically and digitally.

Organizers behind MomoCon 2019 have announced that Suda51 will be appearing at the expo with a new announcement. The “Travis Talks Again with Suda51” panel will be hosted on May 26 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET. For those who won’t be attending, it will be live streamed on Twitch.

Other panels and appearances are planned for MomoCon as well. Supergiant Games will celebrate Transistor’s five-year anniversary with a panel featuring composer Darren Korb and voice actor Logan Cunningham, Aksys Games will be on hand to answer fan questions about their favorite titles, and Inti Creates will look at 2D action game techniques and differences between the indie game scenes in Japan and the U.S. in its panel. A number of voice actors are stopping by as well, including Charles Martinet – the voice of Mario.

Twelve finalists were recently announced for the World Video Game Hall of Fame. The field has been narrowed down, and three inductees have now been selected. Super Smash Bros. Melee didn’t make it in the end, but Super Mario Kart has been chosen. The SNES racer will be joined by Colossal Cave Adventure, Microsoft Windows Solitaire, and Mortal Kombat.

These new inductees are on permanent view at The Strong museum in Rochester, New York. They can be found on the second floor along with past winners.
