A lot has been made of the sales for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, with CEO Yves Guillemot previously saying that the game underperformed. He also recently spoke about how the company should have held off launch for the Switch’s successor.

Series producer Cristina Nava has now chimed in, and indicated that the studio isn’t concerned about the sales of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. Like the previous entry, Nava believes turn-based tactual experiences are slow burners and this one “will grow” over the years.

Original (8/10): M2 will bring DoDonPachi Blissful Death Re:Incarnation to Switch, the company revealed today. A release is planned for December 7, 2023 in Japan.

DoDonPachi Blissful Death Re:Incarnation is a re-release under the M2 ShotTriggers line. It’ll come with DoDonPachi Blissful Death and DoDonPachi Blissful Death Black Label.

The Nintendo Switch Online N64 app received a new version 2.11.0 update yesterday, and while it was highlighted by the addition of Pokemon Stadium 2, it also brought along some improvements for GoldenEye 007. However, not everything is perfect.

As pointed out by Twitter user Graslu00, texture tiling on Dam has been fixed. Also, the dark textures on Bunker have been improved.

Hamster is planning another Arcade Archives game for Switch, and this time around, Mad Shark will be added to the roster. It’s planned for a worldwide release on August 10, 2023.

Originally released by Arume in 1993, the game is a shooter in which players control fighter planes, using bombs and other power-up items to shoot down oncoming enemies.

Original (8/7): Serenity Forge and Mojiken today announced a new physical release for A Space for the Unbound on Switch. A release is planned for Q1 2024.

Korion Interactive has announced that Sven: Completely Screwed will debut on Switch this week. It will launch on August 10, 2023.

For those that are unaware, the Sven series has actually been around for a couple of decades. Now after more than 16 years, the next entry is just a couple of days away. The developer say they’ve made a lot of improvements to make the game look and feel modern. It’s officially described as “a reboot with a makeover”.

Original (6/28): Three years after it was originally announced, the Switch version of Xtreme Sports has secured a release date. WayForward just announced that it’s scheduled for August 10, 2023.

Xtreme Sports originally debuted on the Game Boy Color. The action-sports-RPG features five events including surfing, skyboarding, and street luge.

Take-Two Interactive has now commented directly on the price of the just-announced Switch version of Red Dead Redemption.

The game will cost $50 physically and digitally, which some people aren’t happy about. While it received a good amount of acclaim back in the day, when the title comes to Switch (and PS4), it’ll be more straightforward compared to the usual remasters and remakes we’ve been seeing these days. On top of that, multiplayer won’t be included.
