Included in the limited editions for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a sizable art book. Open it up and one of the first things you’ll see is a lengthy message from Tetsuya Takahashi, the game’s director.

The message is rather interesting. At one point for example, Takahashi reveals that for the first Xenoblade Chronicles, the art for character designs “simply didn’t exist”. The team only had “costume designs for the clothing the characters wore.” For Xenoblade Chronicles 2, this was addressed and dedicated artists were brought on board.

Just like in Japan, the latest European Splatfest has ended. We now have a winner between Team Book and Team Film.

Team Film was much more popular, and they also won out in team battles. Team Book won solo battles, but that wasn’t enough to secure a victory.

The final score was 2-1 for Team Film.

Earlier in the year, Raw Thrills brought Cruis’n Blast. Nintendo’s logo is featured on the arcade machine in part because the Cruis’n name was licensed from the Big N.

In a recent interview with Arcade Heroes, Raw Thrills CEO Eugene Jarvis spoke about the Nintendo side of things for Cruis’n Blast. On the topic of how involved Nintendo was in the process, Jarvis stated:

Media Create reported debut sales for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 in Japan a few days ago. From December 1 to December 3, the game sold just under 100,000 copies. We have some additional news about how the game did.

Dengeki points out how the first Xenoblade sold 71,000 units in its first week before going on to move 149,000 copies in total. Xenoblade Chronicles X, released on Wii U, had debut sales of 86,000 copies and 130,000 units total.

The latest Japanese Splatfest in Splatoon 2 is over, and the results are in.

Players were asked if they prefer wearing warm inner wear or warm outerwear during the winter. The event pitted Heattech and Ultra Light Down up against each other in collaboration with UNIQLO.

Those who sided with outerwear prevailed in the end by a score of 2-1. Team inner wear managed to win solo battles by 1%, but outerwear secured slight edges in popularity and team battles. Overall, it was very close.

Announced earlier in the week, Mega Man 11 is in development, and is heading to Switch in late 2018. It’s been seven years since the last entry in the series. It was way back in 2010 when Mega Man 10 landed on WiiWare.

In this month’s issue of Game Informer, Mega Man 11 producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya spoke about the long wait for a new Mega Man. Part of the problem was when Keiji Inafune left. Mega Man was something Inafune championed and he led the franchise, so after his departure from Capcom, a bit of a hole was left behind.
