NextN recently interviewed Sean Velasco from Yacht Club Games. Some of the more interesting comments came about while discussing the company’s future.
First, when asked about Yacht Club Games’ next title, Velasco said that the project “will probably be something that is very different than Shovel Knight”. He said:
“It will probably be something that is very different than Shovel Knight, but still retains our distinctive Yacht Club Flavor. Nintendo made Mario, Zelda, and Metroid, but they are all distinctly Nintendo. I’d love to make another franchise that people love even more than Shovel Knight!”
Don’t think that returning to Shovel Knight is completely off the table. Regarding the possibilities of Shovel Knight 2, Velasco noted,
“Yes, but it would also be really amazing to work on something fresh and new. For now, start thinking about what the next 8 knights could be like!”

The fifth Global Mission in Pokemon Sun & Moon has begun. This time, the goal is to hatch as many eggs as possible – 200,000 is the goal. If this goal is reached by April 10th, 23:59 UTC, the mission is considered a success and all players will receive 2000 FC. Failure will result in 200 FC instead. As per usual, these rewards are doubled if your save game is tied to a Global Link account.
Furthermore, if players contribute 3 or more hatched eggs to the cause, they will receive a Rare Candy. If a total of 400,000 eggs are hatched between all players, everyone with a Global Link account will receive a Love Ball.
Pocket Rumble was one of the many promising indie games revealed for Switch lately and initially, the 2D brawler was targeted for a release in March. We are now quickly approaching the end of March and unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like Pocket Rumble will make its targeted release date. Developer Cardboard Robot Games had the following to say on Twitter:
We’re currently unable to comment on the release date of Pocket Rumble. As soon as that changes we can and will post more info.
We know this isn’t the news you wanted to hear. Thank you so much for your overwhelming support so far. We love you guys!
This is definitely disappointing, but hopefully the delay won’t be too bad.
The Japanese Fire Emblem Heroes Twitter account is currently holding a quiz competition. Each day, they pose a question about Fire Emblem with four possible answers, and if most people choose the correct answer, rewards will be delivered to all Fire Emblem Heroes players. Yesterday, the quiz wrapped up its “Hard” round of questions and all were answered correctly, which means that everyone will receive at least five orbs and 2,500 Hero Feathers on April 7th. Even better rewards are possible if people answer the “Lunatic” round of questions, which start today.
The Fire Emblem Heroes Twitter has sent out a tease for new content coming on Thursday, March 30. The silhouetted image has characters with distinctive rabbit ears, as can be seen above.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild maintained strong positioning on the UK charts. As mentioned yesterday, it was the sixth best-selling individual game for the week of March 25, and the tenth best-seller on the all formats chart.
According to GamesIndustry, sales of Zelda experienced a 50 percent boost. The site attributes that to Switch stock, as “units begin to trickle their way back into retailers”.
Thanks to Arison for the tip.
