The latest issue of Weekly Jump has revealed some new Dragon Quest XI details, which the folks at Gematsu have kindly translated. First up, some tidbits on the battle system.
As with the rest of the game, the 3DS version features both a 2D and a 3D mode – you can choose between 2D sprites or 3D models of the characters being displayed in battle. The game uses the series’ traditional command-based battle system. Two new monsters, Mandra and Ocobolt, can also be seen. Finally, there seems to be some sort of new combat element that’s activated when the protagonist is surrounded by a blue aura – though sadly the magazine doesn’t go into any more detail than that.
Two new characters also introduced. Martina is a high-spirited martial artist who is quoted saying “With you, we will protect everyone..that is my fight!”. Finally, there’s Rou, a mysterious old man with a white mustache who’s accompanied by the quote “I’ve been waiting for you to arrive.”.
One of the many things Splatoon 2 is changing up compared to the original are the Special and Sub weapons – the Specials are entirely new, and some of the firearms have had their Sub weapons changed around. Today, the official Splatoon Twitter account revealed the Special and Sub weapons of the weapons that will be available to players during the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire this weekend. They are as follows:
- Splattershot: Burst Bomb (sub) + Tenta Missiles (special)
- Splat Charger: Splat Bomb (sub) + Sting Ray (special)
- Splat Roller: Suction Bomb (sub) + Splashdown (special)
- Splat Dualies: Curling Bomb (sub) + Inkjet (special)
Head past the break for videos that show the new specials and the new Curling Bomb sub weapon in action:
Fire Emblem Heroes has added a new series of Quests, the Lunatic Challenge Special Quests. These will run until April 7, and they challenge players to beat certain story missions (namely each mission from Chapters 1, 5, and 9) on the Lunatic difficulty with every teammate surviving and specific types of Heroes on their team. The challenges for Chapters 1 and 5 each provide 1 Orb, and the challenges for Chapter 9 provide 2 Orbs each, allowing players to earn up to 20 extra Orbs.
Also, the prizes for the Michalis preview event are now being distributed, providing 10 Orbs, 5,000 Hero Feathers, and 10 Stamina Potions to players for logging in.
The game also requires a small .1 MB data download.
