Another wave of PlatinumGames departures have been confirmed, including the director of Bayonetta 3. This comes courtesy of a new video from Hideki Kamiya, who previously left the company.
Takahisa Taura, the director of Astral Chain, was previously thought to have left – and that’s now confirmed. Additionally, Bayonetta 3 director Yusuke Miyata is gone. The same goes for Kenji Saito (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance director) and Masaki Yamanaka (Anarchy Reigns character designer).
Shuhei Yoshida, former president of SIE Worldwide Studios for Sony Interactive Entertainment, has shared details about a cancelled game for the Nintendo PlayStation that never made it to market.
While this is well documented at this point, Sony was once working on an add-on for the SNES which would have accepted CDs. However, Nintendo later pivoted and ended up working with Philips while Sony would go on to create the PlayStation.
We have a few more words out of Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa, who today commented on Switch 1 sales in light of Switch 2 arriving later in 2025.
Furukawa told investors that the company doesn’t believe that the recent announcement of the new console will greatly affect sales of its current system. “We don’t think the impact of reluctance to buy is that great, and although we consider this to be a solid eighth year, we were unable to reach our target,” he noted.

Note that there are seven character designs available and each one costs 10 Platinum Points on My Nintendo. Note that by simply booting up Super Mario Kart, you’ll be given 50 Platinum Points – so you can essentially get five of them for free.
Today, Gelato Games provided the final Guns of Fury release date. The game isn’t too far off having been pinned down for February 13, 2025.
Guns of Fury, a retro-inspired action platformer featuring a mix of run-and-gun and Metroidvania gameplay, was announced last summer. Though the original target was to launch in 2024, that didn’t happen – but we now know it’s just a few days away.
