Did you know that it’s possible to execute a spin attack in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker? That’s something that director Shinya Hiratake shared in his Miiverse interview earlier today.
Below are his full comments:
“This might be going off on a bit of a tangent, but another one of the questions we received was ‘Why did you include an attack for Captain Toad where he gets dizzy from spinning around?’ This action is actually supposed to be Captain Toad attacking enemies with his backpack! We added it in because we wanted to give his backpack another purpose besides preventing him from jumping! We also wanted to add another means of attack besides throwing stuff, for players who have got used to playing the game!”
If you haven’t seen the spin attack before, you can get a look at it in the video above.
Nintendo’s Iwata Asks series was on hiatus for over a year. But out of nowhere, a new interview was published late last week to celebrate the launch of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D.
Thankfully, this won’t be a one-time thing. Satoru Iwata recently said on Nintendo’s Japanese Twitter account that the series will continue, even if it’s not at the same pace as before.
Since the early days of Anima: Gate of Memories’ existence, we’ve heard that the game would be released on Wii U. That’s why it was particularly strange that speculation started surfacing today that this might no longer be the case.
The rumors seem to have arisen from a couple of tweets published by BadLand Games, a Spanish distributor. BadLand essentially stated that there are no plans for a Wii U version at the moment. I’m not sure why this was said, but I can confirm that Anima: Gate of Memories is still on for Wii U. Creator Carlos García confirmed to us that the team is still planning a Wii U version.
Amazon is the first retailer to be kicking off pre-orders for Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven. There’s a May 26 release date on the page, though that’s only tentative. XSEED has only confirmed a launch for spring at this time.
Update: Clarification – this only applies to Germany. The date is March 20 for Portugal, and sometime in April for France.
A pair of New 3DS Zelda face plates are coming to Europe next week. The ones above, first revealed for Japan earlier this month, are set to arrive in Europe on February 27.
