Famitsu has got its hands on new details for Dragon Quest Monsters 2’s Magic Keys. You can find the latest batch of information below.

– Unlock Malta castle’s key shop by clearing the game
– You’ll then be able to access a ton of Magical Keys
– Add your own “words” to the keys
– Depending on the material and word combination used to make the keys, the resulting world you’ll get will differ
– Quests they’ll offer differ as well
– This makes it easier to remember what combinations you can use to make the worlds you want
– Make a key and you’ll then be allowed to check out what kind of quests and monsters will appear int he world it can unlock
– Keys you make can be shared with others through StreetPass
– This is the best way to power up your post-game monsters
– There will be a “little more” to it than new grinding areas

Earlier today, Nico Nico held an announcement broadcast for its annual “Nico Nico Chokaigi” convention. The show was highlighted by an appearance from none other than Shigeru Miyamoto.

Miyamoto announced that Nintendo intends to act as the “Super Special Sponsor” this year. It’s a bit unclear as to what this entails – though perhaps it’s a sign that Nintendo has something special in store for fans.

Nico Nico Chokaigi will take place on April 27 and April 28.

Disclaimer for all study-based posts: This is not meant to be taken as positive or negative, nor is it wholly conclusive. It’s an intriguing set of data with which you can do what you please– not a moral conclusion in and of itself.

Researchers at something called the “Nottingham Trent University International Gaming Research Unit” have gathered data leading to an interesting observation: A portion of gamers experience minor visual/aural alterations to reality after playing games for an extended period of time, presumably 4+ hours straight. These alterations are called similar to hallucinations but not entirely the same thing.

The study covered 483 gamers and “656 experiences” that were gathered via online forums, and did not include a psychological profile of players. Researchers say that, after playing for long periods of time, some gamers continued to “see” (in a non-literal sense, of course) elements of the game that in some cases prevented them from sleeping or caused strange behavior. The professor of psychology at Nottingham Trent admitted that the study was not necessarily representative of gaming as a whole, but finds it interesting nonetheless.

Read more about the study over at Gamespot.

Inazuma Eleven may not be destined for North America after all. The listing, which was discovered just a few days ago, has now been quietly removed. Perhaps the original entry was a mistake?
