Japanese hardware sales before Christmas saw a decline year-over-year

Media Create has posted new analysis about the latest gaming sales from Japan.
Youkai Watch 2: Shinuchi was the big seller last week with 1.244 million copies sold. The title’s sales saw an expected drop to 533,000 units. As a result, overall sales for the market were at 1.909 million, which was 84.36 percent of the previous week.
Because of Christmas demand, consoles sold 108.48 percent compared to last week. Total hardware sales for the week before Christmas went down to 71.48 percent of that of last year.

Another Bravely Second stream set for January 9

Dengeki will be hosting a new stream for Bravely Second on January 9. It will take place at 8 PM Japan time, which is 7 AM ET / 4 AM PT / 12 PM in the UK / 1 PM in Europe.

Denpa Ningen no RPG Free downloads now up to 1.7 million

Denpa Ningen no RPG Free continues to rake in downloads. The free-to-play title has now been downloaded by over 1.7 million 3DS owners in Japan.
Developer Geninus Sonority is promising further content additions for 2015. Specifics, however, have not been revealed.

Close to 150 Japanese developers were asked by 4Gamer about the games that impressed them the most this year. How’d the results pan out?
Youkai Watch 2 took the top spot with 13 votes. Destiny, Terra Battle, GUILTY GEAR Xrd -SIGN-, and the original Youkai Watch rounded out the top five.
