Tetris 99 - Xenoblade

Nintendo has revealed the 14th Maximus Cup for Tetris 99. A new theme will be up for grabs, which features Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – music included. You can secure it by earning 100 event points.

The new Tetris 99 Maximus Cup goes live on July 3 at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET. It’ll last until June 6 at 11:59 PM PT / June 7 at 2:59 AM ET.

Inti Creates has debuted the first gameplay of its just-announced action-platformer Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2. We have it below.

Blaster Master Zero 2 - Kanna Raising Simulator

Inti Creates today revealed new mini-game DLC for Blaster Master Zero 2. Kanna, the game’s popular plant gal, will be featured in “Kanna Raising Simulator”.

Koji Igarashi and Inti Creates today announced Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2, a direct sequel to the 8-bit installment in the Bloodstained series. It is in development for Switch and other platforms, though a release window hasn’t been announced.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2, once again a 2D action game, will feature a multiple-scenario structure of the previous title with a new story supervised by Igarashi. Players will control Zangetsu, “a swordsman from the Far East who bears a deep grudge against demonkind.” Zangetsu, along with a new cast of characters, will battle their way to the demonic stronghold. The new characters have their own gameplay options, abilities, and ways to complete the different stages.

During today’s New Game+ Expo presentation, SNK unveiled the final fighter for Samurai Shodown Season 2. Warden will be joining the game, the company announced.

Warden represents a crossover with For Honor. Ubisoft’s action title originally came out in 2017.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers

A new Earth Defense Force has been announced for Switch, albeit not a traditional one.

D3Publisher today revealed the third-person shooter Earth Defense Force: World Brothers, which launches later this year in Japan. It adopts a voxel graphical style, and features characters from across the entire series.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated

SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom has gone on to become a fan favorite since its original debut on GameCube back in 2003. Now THQ Nordic and Purple Lamp have brought the game back with a new “Rehydrated” release on Switch, which gives the 3D platformer a fresh coat of paint and more.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

During its EA Play Live presentation, it was announced that EA will be putting seven games on Switch over the next year. Two were confirmed at the time: Apex Legends and Burnout Paradise Remastered. The other titles weren’t named, but since Lost in Random and FIFA 21 Legacy Edition were confirmed for Switch after the presentation, that leaves three mystery projects.

VentureBeat claims to have insight into EA’s plans. The site has accurately reported on Nintendo rumors this year and indicated that Apex Legends would be announced for Switch, which was later confirmed during EA Play Live.
