According to IHS Markit’s analysis, roughly $8 billion was spent on Nintendo products in 2017. That’s about double what the Big N generated the year prior. The arrival of Switch, the SNES Classic Edition, and continued 3DS sales contributed to the increase.
IHS Markit indicates that Nintendo will have a larger share of the console market than Microsoft this year. In 2017, over $10 billion was spent globally on Xbox hardware, software, and services.

Switch owners can use My Nintendo Gold Points when purchasing digital games starting today
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Update: With this update, the Switch eShop has also been updated to show how many gold points can be earned from a digital purchase.
Original: Nintendo recently announced that it would be possible to use My Nintendo Gold Points when purchasing digital games on Switch. This is going into effect starting today, which should be as soon as maintenance ends (roughly 90 minutes from now).
The way this works is that Switch owners can get 5% back on digital purchases and 1% back on games bought physically. You’ll be able to apply Gold Points to purchases during checkout on the eShop or on Nintendo’s website. 1 Gold Point amounts to 1 cent. Another way of putting this: if you pay $59.99 for a game on the eShop, you’ll earn 300 Gold Points, which can be $3.00 towards your next purchase.
Here’s the full rundown from Nintendo:

Nintendo confirms that the Switch play time display issue will be fixed with an update, data not lost
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
A lot has been made over a new issue that has surfaced with Switch as the system rings in its first anniversary. For games that have been played over a year, the play time count in your profile is no longer displaying properly. Instead of showing how long you’ve played, the profile instead starts out by stating that you’ve started playing it “x days ago” – which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
Nintendo of America commented on the issue yesterday, indicating that the situation is being investigated and more news is coming soon. Nintendo’s Japanese support site now has further news about what has occurred.
