Nintendo and The Pokemon Company had previously announced that a significant update for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet was scheduled to release in February, providing bug fixes and adding new functionality. While we still don’t know when exactly the update will release this month, patch notes detailing the update’s additions have been released.

The main focus seems to revolve around Pokemon Box management, with the update making several quality-of-life changes to make navigating that menu more comfortable. Beyond that, a sweeping set of bug fixes are coming to Tera Raid Battles, as well as a handful of fixes coming to the general battle system and other elements of the game.

Contrary to last update, no special highlight is given to resolving issues surrounding the game’s performance, although presumably some of the changes made will improve this as well. It should also be noted that further features and bug fixes not listed in these patch notes are set to release with the update, so these aren’t the full list of changes either.

This week’s Famitsu review scores are as follows:

A new update has released for Pikmin Bloom, bringing the game to version 63.0.

This update is implementing a number of notable new features and improvements, including a new flower planting accelerator, a way of feeding Pikmin from the Pikmin list and Pikmin details screens, and the ability to send postcards and gift packs to friends in mushroom battles.

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have announced the next update coming to Fire Emblem Heroes. The update, version 7.2.0, is set to release on February 5 in North America and February 6 in Europe.

This new version will feature a new pity system for Summoning Events, the Focus Charge feature. The update is otherwise pretty standard, offering new weapons and skills to existing characters and making a few other minor adjustments.

The patch notes for Fire Emblem Heroes version 7.2.0 are as follows:

A new sales update for Monster Hunter Rise has just been disclosed by Capcom. We now know the game has sold over 12 million units worldwide across all versions of the game, which is being commemorated with the artwork featured above.

Monster Hunter Rise initially released on Switch in March 2021, receiving its Sunbreak expansion (which recently reached another sales milestone) in June 2022. The game was also released on PC in January 2022 and just recently received Playstation and Xbox ports a few weeks ago, which likely contributed to it reaching this new milestone.

Nintendo has just announced the next event coming to Mario Kart Tour, that being the brand-new Exploration Tour. As per usual, this Tour will feature new driver and kart elements and a new Mii Racing Suit, but the main highlight here is a brand-new track, Piranha Plant Cove. This track was teased earlier today and features large underwater temples for racers to drive through.

Nintendo has put out a couple of trailers for the new Tour and Mii Racing Suit, which you can watch below.

Hamster has announced that Phelios will be the next Arcade Archives title releasing on Switch. It will be available on February 2, 2023.

Phelios was originally developed by Namco in 1989. It initially released exclusively in Japan, never making an appearance in overseas arcades.

This week’s Famitsu review scores are as follows:

A new update for Pokemon Home has just released, bringing the app to version 2.1.0. This patch specifically affects the mobile version of the app, with the Switch version remaining untouched for now.

This new update focuses around adding further Pokemon Scarlet and Violet integration for the app, specifically by making Ranked Battle data from those games viewable within the app. On top of addressing other small issues, it’s also providing a similar feature for Pokemon Sword and Shield, allowing players to view battle results from those titles.

New gameplay has popped up for Albacete Warrior following its recent release on Switch. 28 minutes of footage are available for the game.
